Thoughts on consolidating maybe 3 cars into 1?

I still don't think we should be doing this as a private sale should we? Not really 'essential' is it?
It is for people like us Dean
100% agree. I have interested parties at present. I’ve sent them videos of the cars and any deals agreed will be completed when legally allowed to do so. Key workers can buy cars still as far as I’m aware.
any chance you could source me a 488 with a blue light to get to work quicker? :)

I think you are right Adam and I've always had this worse scenario can only be I lose the 100% value of the vehicle.

Funny I remember saying that on my first TVR. Cost me £9250 from memory and remember saying the worst thing that can happen is I lose £9250. I wasn't expecting it to come to that but as it worked out it cost me about £4k in the end for my unfortunate error. Wasn't so bad in the end.

Most of what I have are all fairly bottomed out but of course if the market has a seismic shift of course the values could fall much further. I'd just keep them and look at the and still be eternally happy and feel lucky and privileged.

That is my concern on going higher up the value chain for one as the exposure to a bigger hit is higher......but what the h3ll....we might not be here tomorrow. This resaonates at the moment more than ever.

mid you can live w a higher mileage V12, top knicks 550s can be had for low 60’s and 456s manual in mid 40s... I suppose it could be a tad lower over the next 6-12months
Think that a massive reset on price will happen. The investors can go back to financial markets. Most cars are a depreciating asset, that need regular use and maintenance to slow the rate of depreciation. The really rare stuff will always creep up in price, then be frozen in suspended animation instead of being driven. The cars selling thousands of units could still be affordable to us all again. Hope that a cooking granturismo might be the equivalent of "ordinary 911" of 20 years ago.
Will be quite happy in any 550 or a manual 456. Missed a yellow 456 at NEC few years back which sold for 30-ish

I really wanted a 456M when I bought my 3200GT. I had just driven a 550 (loved it) and 355 (hated it) at the Tower Garage but needed space for three. That's how I got into Masers two decades ago.

I have had the same thought a number of times but the one car would have to be very special and like you I would probably have a budget of around £75k but not found anything that I could truly commit to selling all 3 of mine.

A 550 is probably the closest but the only way to be sure would be to drive one for more than just 20-30 mins. Maybe think again about it once all this **** has calmed down.

Agreed. I think you might need to go over 100k to get special enough.

Hang in there Dean as the way the markets going that 75k may get you that 100k car in 6 months.......My dream car is an Aston Martin GT12 and as we left 2019 they were 380k to 400k now they are 299k and I bet they will get lower. Who last year expected to see a 38k 2007 model year Vantage for 22k but there is one on Autotrader and i bet we will be seeing them start we a 1 in the next 6 months.....

nice set of cars, I would stay but that MC Stradale ME looks beautiful… hmmmm

The Aston V12 S also looks nice but I would prefer the V10 plus R8 - may not bite the wallet as much

The AMG GT is just another Merc.

Oh that F360 is nice, wasn't a fan when launch but now a manual 360 would be on the list

We’ve already done that one. They’ll be well over £100k when the get over here, they always are. However, having said that, after the Brexit free-trade deal with the spams, there may well be no taxes so they may be under £100k. If so, they’ll be well worth a look.

I ought to expand on this...

Trade prices haven’t altered (no one is trading). WBAC & BCA have suspended trading. Cap hpi who collate figures aren’t releasing any CAP figures til June. Prices through this lockdown will remain constant, no point in reducing prices as we aren’t allowed to hand a car over, although we can arrange a sale and deliver it when the law permits.
I cant help but feel that "cash will be king" in the car market a few months from now.

The industry will not resemble what it is now.

Dealers wont be selling any stock for months- they'll be desperate and on their knees.
Current owners of the majority of cars are likely to be handing them back due to financial circumstances - resulting in massive over supply.
Finance, PPI, Leasehold deals, bank loans etc will be virtually non-existent- credit is collapsing if you haven't figured.

Many car manufacturers will possibly have collapsed too.

That gives cash buyers massive selection and bargaining power- make a stupid offer, walk away.

Very few buyers will come along behind you.

That said, I'll take the Velar, massive spec and waft around- may even take it down the beach. If i'm lucky I'll pick up a GTS too....Oz tariffs wil be lifted.

I certainly think there will be some levelling of the market and those with some cash maybe able to pick of a bargain, a 4.7 Vantage with a few Bamford Rose mods would be nice as would a 550 but I think a good one of those will always remain out of reach
