Morning all, Crud - the Botanical Gardens are I thought rather surreal and totally commercialised. That is not to say I didn’t enjoy going around and through them.
Is that the Gardens by the Bay, Newton, those big flower dome and cloud dome things that you have to pay to go in? In which case I agree. The Botanic Gardens are pretty low-key, just lots of plants, paths, lizards strolling around minding their own lizardy business, that kind of thing. Also free, unless you go into the National Orchid Garden.
This afternoon I had a haircut in a Japanese barber. It was wonderful. No obligation to chat (and no point trying), just the lovely babble of soft feminine chatter while the lady barber does the necessary, and a nice shoulder massage thrown in for good measure. Now, in a bid to get my liver to work for its money, I'm having a beer by the pool. Well, I would be if I could find a serving person.
