Hello everyone!
I know it's not morning but hey. Dunno went I've been absent here for the last few days but that's life. I'm enjoying some time off work and meeting with old friends.
I'm now on my way back from London having been checking out the new 2017 Cru Borgois wines. Some nice surprises from a vintage that wasn't expected to do too well thanks to inclement weather. It's funny how, after 60 wines you start forgetting what you've tasted and find yourself topping up on all the particularly good ones several times.
Anyone want to join MLC at the Bicester Heritage Super Scramble day on the 6th October? He's going to help me out the preceding evening to free up space in my fridge...

He doesn't need pairs. One half will do.

Just the lower half.

Morning, all. It's a lovely sunny day here, but I'll be leaving HK behind and heading south to Singapore, where I intend to relax for at least 24 hours.

It's been interesting being here during the unrest. While protestors protest on the island, Kowloon is home to the usual conspicuous consumption and reassuringly familiar hustle and bustle and noise. The subway art is less familiar and more sinister.

I know a number of people here, ex-pats and locals, who are planning to leave. Reminds me of that Springsteen song, 'My Hometown'.

Good morning everyone and good afternoon to our finely underpanted Far Eastern correspondent.

Early start for me and then day one of a training course. Then a drive north to Manchester.

Have a top day... Nice one.

(just practicing my Manc accent)

Morning all. Now on leave and watching with stunned horror some of the emails that have been flying overnight. Then deleting them.

Yesterday was interesting but didn't feel overly successful. Time will tell. Back into that London for other interesting times this morning. Then stop.

Have a great day, all

C

That was a productive twenty minutes finding my way through the labyrinthine claims process of a certain fave airline. Now done, receipts submitted. These slinky drawers are going to feel even saucier once someone else has paid for them. Woof!

Hong Kong terminal 2 is ****-boring, by the way.

Andy, good luck at the debtist. Sounds like you have a cold.

Martin, good luck back in the north. Have you been practicing your Man walk?

Does it still feel safe to you Fc or do you detect an ominous change?

Morning everyone!
Those are chilling posters, Crud. I've spent two days of this week with some old friends back over here on holiday with family but they're now permanently living in HK. Thankfully they live away from the main crazy but they just hope they can get home once they land.
I better go and do some exercise soon.
HapPea Friday!

Seems fine to me, but locals tell me there's an but of an ominous fizz in the air. I think Kowloon's a bit more out of it. Get across to the island and near the government and police headquarters and things are a bit more tense.

Well that’s good!
I guess the locals are more aware of the change than others. Hopefully it gets back to normal in time.
I lived in the ME through the Iraq Gulf war and then in later years the Arab spring. From a place where safety was never an issue, it went to a place of “watching your back” very quickly.....and when you are in a foreign country that can be very disconcerting.

Morning all. Packed and heading to Stanstead for a chaps sailing trip in Turkey. As we are all ‘gentlemen’ over a certain age....I’m sure it will be a sensible trip

Do you cause political conflict and strife everywhere you go, Wattie..?
