Today, I visited the Dark Side but returned into the light unsullied by the experience; I gave a Porsche 911R a bit of a thrash. Impressed? Kind of; it’s another extremely competent German car that does everything really well apart from tingle the old nutsack. Tbf, it even sounds good when you wind it up to 8000+ but I wasn’t at all disappointed when I got back into the Jaaag which is louder, sounds better, accelerates quicker, is err, more involving to drive and, IMO, is a more immersive driving experience. The R’s owner was driving mine and was very impressed with the old girl. Happy days!

Morning, all. Late night vet run last night. Looks like it was just something he ate, and that then came out with somewhat unpleasant consequences. Still he's much happier if groggy from the sedation. Servers him right for being a psychotic *******.

So WFH today as opposed to heading to Reigate, but also somewhat low on petrol in one of the cars.

And I see the BBC are majoring on it as well. sigh

Have a good one all. 3 more sleeps until hols!

Morning all, up and down all night as Jamie decided it was morning at 11:30 last night

Yesterday saw me blowing a load of cash on Italian leather but fortunately it being in stock and staff discount made the experience a bit more palatable

The dark side being 'the south'? Well, I'm glad you made it. The media's conspiring to make us all terrified of our own shadows so I'm pleased you braved whatever terrors they've unleashed lately. Anyway, the Pork not worth 4x the Shaaag, in your humble?

Morning, all. Definitely colder. But also quite bright. Morning coffee in the garden. I'm determined to make this a habit. It's good for the soul, and God knows mine needs all the help it can get.

Still no queue at the electric charge point at my home.;)
In Porscheland, the queue to buy a Taycan is longer than a 911. Less depreciation too. So come on you luddites - join the future!

(But keep your Masers for weekend fun, Le Mans trips, etc.)

The Dark Side I referred to was Porkville, although ‘the South’ does also fit the description. Obtaining petrol on motorways isn’t difficult but does require a bit of a wait, but it didn’t put me off using what was required to p!ss off any Wokes I happened to pass. Fwiw, the R is now about 7x what I paid for the Jaaag but it certainly isn’t 7x the car. Incidentally, it has a single mass flywheel which creates a strange (ugly) vibration through the car. At times you can sense the odd bang, which I thought was a pop from the exhaust, but that too is from the flywheel/clutch assembly. Apparently, “they all do that Guv” which would really p!ss me off over time. Tbh, I’d take the TT I had over the R for just about any type kind of fast road or track driving.

Back in the Luddites day the planet was a whole lot cleaner than it is today, such is the price of 'progress' !

That Taycan for me is a stunning looking car and maybe the best looking car Porsche currently make. Saw the new a Taycan Cross Turismo at Silverstone on the Porsche stand the weekend and the also is a fantastic looking car. The future looks bright from what I can see. Like it or not this is the future.
