A very good morning to all. Well weather looks delightful this weekend. Watched the Eddie the Eagle film last night...Bloody brilliant. What an inspiration for those who have a dream. Worth a watch.

Living in Gloucester and having a Ski slope remember Eddie the Eagle well and look forward to seeing the film.

So I’m off to pick up a cot mattress from Argos in the old one. Day of DIY & hopefully Maserati suspension.

My son text me the other day.....My brakes are making a scraping noise...ok son, check the pads, where am I looking, look in through the Cali per, where’s that....
Ffs... bring it here.....
Half hour later.......
Me...give me the keys, why, confiscated until you have been to the motor factors and got new discs and pads.....
Just changed them this morning...£47 for full fronts, his girlfriend just been round, she paid £220 to get hers done on a Fiat 500, what a rip off.....

I guess Phil, haven’t priced them but I reckon a Fiat 500 discs and pads can’t be more than £40, I’m not a trained mechanic and have no air tools or power lifts. Took me an hour to do sons Fiesta..
But I take your point...
Been a while since I messed about with cars on the drive on a bit of carpet..

£220 so is that £184 + vat , I'd have thought that was about right, I was once quoted £700 + vat to do the back brakes on a twin wheel iveco pickup

Guess so. I priced them. I can buy for £40, if I push the squaddie discount I can get at Eddie walkers at cost. They are a piece of **** to do. Hour tops. So £40 parts , Labour £40, so overheads and profit. £100. Vat all ready on parts tho.
