I have tried - but she is a newly qualified teacher and insists she has to come home today for work tomorrow. I like the work ethic (get it from me) but not if it puts her at unnecessary risk. I have added her boyfriend to the insurance this morning so they can share the drive ...... slow and steady - no rush and keep away from lorries !
She is back home safely

Morning you lot.
Was going to go to that London this morning, but took a look at the weather! BBQ is just about still here. Other damage will be assessed when the sun comes up.
Andy GWS!

Have a great day, all

Happy birthday, Wack!

I'm braving the elements and heading back up to London today. Checked the weather and decided that although there's a possibility of rain, the inevitability of strong winds would make an umbrella a bit pointless.

Good morning everyone and happy birthday to Wack61, good luck with the garden sale. You don't have a white plastic chair perchance?

Expecting havoc in the way to work with trees fallen and Localised flooding.
Busy day ahead

Morning all.
Happy Birthday Darren.
Hope you get better soon Andy K.
Probably need to get Ms French to the Docs so I'm not sorting out her Uncles XKR engine this week.
Take Care all.

Morning all, wind seems to have blown through although I think we are due some more. I had to release the Fulvia format's temporary home as it is off for its pre NCT check over which was fun in those winds.

Otherwise WFH so need to go to far, although might run down the coast and grab a bite of lunch.

Get well soon AndyK

My daughter finished work at 4pm yesterday, she rang and said it's not raining I'll get the bus, looked sunny at 4 but really windy so I went and picked her up, by the time I'd driven the 3 miles it'd changed dramatically , absolutely chucking it down with horizontal rain.

This has been a bad one but I don't think we've suffered any damage yet , a few weeks ago I lost a ridge tile , if you've got the nerve roofing is good money,£80 for 20 minutes, my wife thought it was expensive but I wouldn't go up there for £280 let alone £80

Totally agree with you there Darren had 3 slates replaced on the roof here a couple of weeks ago €100 but he also cleaned our gutters out and swept the 3 chimneys which we needed done for insurance purposes.
I felt uneasy watching him to be honest.

Morning all. Office for a bit this morning then up to my parents as they have a dementia coming round to do an assessment on my dad.
Hopefully will give us a few pointers as what to do/expect.

Kind of got a rough grasp, but knowledge is power as they say.
The saddest part is knowing my dad will never be the same again. :too_sad:
