Guys, the MC Stradale has 457, the GTS automatic has 440, GTS has 450.

All will appear different when you get them on the rolling road, due to a variety of factors. Get ten stock 4200's tested and you will get surprising variations.

I was half expecting to just see the nose of my car towards the end of the run, but no.
From where I was sat this difference was microscopic. Yes it did gain slightly but by no more than say a car being on the inside lane around a bend.

So, in conclusion:
What do you get for just under a grand?
A nice print out of a graph with two marginally different plots on it.

Would I recommend it?
Only if you really like graphs.

The mutterings of remapping a 4.2 to make it the same as a GTS: Never gonna happen.

Not only that Dan....but as it was put up to me when I was about to do the up-grade.................."You don't get anywhere near putting even 70% of the power down on the road....so how are you going to put another 40bhp down?!"

Heh heh. ;-)

I think you need all the tweaks together (exhaust, remap, DBW) to get a noticeable difference.

Even then.....................you'd really have to racing seriously.........with other tweaks too...all done under the guise of top end racing guru...IMHO

If I get a GT-S later this year, I'll get an FD ECM built to my tastes and we can see whether the extra dollars makes a difference. Generic remaps give you just a little bit more of everything, rather than what you specifically want in which rpm band.

May i ask a 'stupid' question? Do you use the same fuel?Maybe one used 100 octane, the other 95?.. They're 55hp different, but the road test showed much less.

I wouldn't agree with that P.
Once you're moving the power goes down well enough, it could easily handle another couple of hundred BHP in the higher gears.
If one was to go completely mad and super charge it you'd just fit a boost controller that only gave it full power in 3rd upwards.

I spent quite a lot of money on various performance enhancements to my previous GS, and in aggregate it completely changed the car. It felt a lot quicker just in general driving.

From what Dan has been saying, he didn't feel his car was any quicker with the DMS mapping (and was proven more or less correct).

What are the views of the other DMSti's on their upgrade? Didn't about 10 guys on here get chipped?

I looked into the Novitec supercharging (20K - eek), it gives around 600bhp but claimed 0-100km/h is still around the 4.5 sec range ... so maybe it's simply the weight of the GranTurismo which holds it back.

Still, that lovely noise ...

Do you remember the TG show where they took a Renualt Scenic....did what they thought were useful tweaks....and the thing ended up....lighter, better brakes, better tyres....not sure if they tinkered with engine......sobering moment.....when it was even slower than the first lap time they did!
