Just had a read through this.
Pretty interesting that most people agree that 30-40hp doesn't make a great deal of difference on the road, so likewise, can I correctly assume that there is very little difference between the 4.2 and the 4.7 then? As the 40hp difference would be similar.

The difference in displacement, imo, makes a significant change to the sound when comparings the 4.2 against 4.7

The difference between a 4.2 GT and a 4.7 GTS is like night and day.

To most people it means **** all. To the minority who actually know how to drive a car the difference is measurable that's for sure. Even the few who come on the forums and have to ask the question it may as well be a standard answer as they will never experience the differential between a 4.2 and a 4.7.
