Well, after a few phone calls today disturbing me from a particularly tricky wiring issue with a soft top alerting me to another fine mess BennyD has caused I guess I must interject.
First off, the reason that makes this forum such a great place is that the job of the moderators is one that takes little effort. Members are intelligent and they generally know where the line is and share a common passion of motor vehicles.
The Maserati community is and always has been that bit more gentlemanly than the others.
I have heard reports on a certain M3 forum where members have been calling each other out and physical aggression has been threatened.
Back to SM. Over the 10 years we have been providing this service, a total of 6 members from nearly 8k have been banned. Mainly due to financial irregularity.
On the positive side, we have seen 10 Le Mans trips, one Centenary, 4 further Euro trips not to the 10 Xmas doo’s, 50 plus Ace Cafes, 8 Track days plus a host of other meets too numerous to mention.
A lot of the people who attend these trips I would consider personal friends but hot headed at times.
As time progresses, people age and from what I’ve seen become more neurotic.
To the case in point: Hamilton
I am also one of those whom can’t stand him. It is nothing to do with race, it’s to do with the fact that like many I see him as an insufferable *****.
It’s my opionion and if other members disagree then that is their right. What is not right is to play the race card to force your opinion as correct over another.
Saying that, those of us whom know Benny, he delights in winding people up but saying that, if you have a serious issue then he will have your back.
Regarding Oneball, I have not had the pleasure to meet you in person but would like too. I feel you have been a little over sensitive in this matter and just because someone is not liked it’s not due to the colour of their skin.
Let’s all take a breath and a few days to reflect then see if we can all move on.
