Well worth listening to this if you value democracy.
Well worth listening to this if you value democracy.
Those being his billionaire chums betting on UK recession etcAbsolutely spot on orchestrated by those behind the scenes.
So we’ve had the Liberal Hypocrites position. The new Liberal Hypocrites.
Ms Swinson would never have called for a referendum if she thought we were going to be allowed to return the wrong result.
Pathetic.
I think I understand your argument. Those being his billionaire chums betting on UK recession etc
Nigel Farage walks into a pub and says, "I'll have a pint of beer, please." The barman pours a pint, then throws it all over Farage.
'What did you do that for?' says Farage.
'Because you're in a metaphor which illustrates the stupidity of asking for something, but not stipulating how you wanted it delivered.'
'OK then... I'll have a pint -- this time in a glass!' says Farage.
'You can't ask again!' said the barman.
'Why not?' snivelled Farage.
'Democracy.' says the barman.
Seems rather odd that Macron/Finland has done this given the above. This is genuinely interesting, and suggests there is a significant majority in the European Parliament to avoid at any costs a no deal Brexit. This is the same as the House of Commons, and (IMO) is good news for all...
This was on the condition the prolongation is justified and has a specific purpose, such as avoiding a “no-deal” departure, holding general elections or a referendum, revoking Article 50, or approving the Withdrawal Agreement.
I think as part of the same vote the members of the European Parliament have voted in support of there being no trade talks in the event of a no-deal Brexit unless Britain pays in full the £39 billion divorce bill, implemented the controversial Northern Ireland backstop and guaranteed the rights of EU citizens in the country.
Both of these significantly increase the likelihood of an extension, a referendum / general election, and the current view of the British public being sought...
Interesting times!
Amen!What?
You've no idea mate, UK benefits system is no free ride, open your eyes. The social safety in the UK has been almost totally eroded away, just look, people sleeping on the streets, children stealing Ketchup sachets to eat, child poverty at record high levels, my friend Bila Ahmed (yes, a Muslim) every single night of the week feeds the homeless in Bolton Town Centre, because the UK can't/doesn't want to do it.
Foodbanks? Is that normal for the 5th richest economy in the World?
Genuine refugees get accommodation, usually the where no UK person would consider, and 35 quid a week in vouchers, not cash. These people are displaced through no fault of their own, do they not deserve help?
Going on benefits and having to cow tow to supercilious officials for a pittance is utterly demeaning, I would not wish it on anybody.
Or, maybe let them starve on streets, we do that anyway now.....
It’ll probably be turned into the perfect excuse for revoking A50 by our remain majority HOP.So what happens 'if' EU says enough is enough, and notwithstanding leaving with no deal is not an option according to parliament, is the UK just 'kicked out' or does it 'remain in' until the paperwork is done? Effectively extended anyway?
The major point you’re missing is all the costs to do that... only 1 person get richer: the government w duties, and everybody else loses due to incremental cost and potential arbitrage as some customers won’t want to buy from these firms due to higher prices.Back from Paris after meeting my son Andrew who had been in Europe training other employees of the firm he works for. A very enlightening conversation took place.
Andrew works for Premier Farnell (FTSE 250 company) in the accounts section. Farnell manufacture and sell electronic components world wide Mercedes, Toro Rosso, MClaren number in their customer base along with mainstream car manufacturers and aircraft people you may also have heard of Raspberry Pi. Farnell were recently taken over by Avnet a Nasdaq 500 company while Brexit was raging. Avnet are based in Phoenix and use aircraft to send their goods to customers. So we are not talking two bit companies here. Farnell figure highly in Avnet's annual figures due to the profitability achieved. In less than 2 years Avnet have set up and are now implementing systems to ensure their exports continue seamlessly to Europe during Brexit. One example is the leader of the team within Avnet has been given power for a pdf electronic signature to guarantee a contract is fulfilled. A new massive warehouse is almost complete on the outskirts of Leeds (head office UK) close to motorways airports etc. They are being proactive.
Their main competitor - Electro-components may be doing something similar. These are hard undeniable facts which to me shows that with a little ingenuity companies can prosper and it is not all doom and gloom as portrayed by some.
Which will be a dilemma for the Lib dems as if they revoke they will have nothing to stand for once again at the next election and they’ll be destined to the political wilderness. It’ll probably be turned into the perfect excuse for revoking A50 by our remain majority HOP.
Merely pointing out that businesses if prepared can survive and prosper contrary to what Remainers sayThe major point you’re missing is all the costs to do that... only 1 person get richer: the government w duties, and everybody else loses due to incremental cost and potential arbitrage as some customers won’t want to buy from these firms due to higher prices.
So not all doom and gloom, just more friction - which businesses find ways around in general, especially the companies that can relocate elsewhere...
We’ve sunk so low that even Finland is threatening us now. We’ve sunk so low that even Luxembourg is taking the p1ss now.
