Calling it today as:

From 1/1/19: 21st 9lb or 303lb or 137kg

to 24/1/19: 20st 2lb 282lb or 128kg

so that is officially 1 1/2 stone shifted this year so far!!!!
DUDE! That's brilliant work so far! Well done :)
Even if you account for the variability in weighing yourself at different times of day and before or after input/output, that can't be snuffed at.
Now I'm expecting you to be lighter than me by the end of February.

I seem to remember reading somewhere not to weigh yourself after exercise.....its better to be consistent with your weighing timings. Ie around same time before breakfast when you want to measure it.

Ill try that, thanks.

Newton, that is an incredible weight loss in just over three weeks! Congratulations... You’ve lost 9kg in the time it’s taken me to lose 9lbs!

Tonight’s exercise fun was back to kettlebells, and was 2 sets of the following (each set was 8-12 reps).

This looks like a great little motivational challenge.....just what I need.

MY problem isn’t training....it’s boredom eating and drinking in the evenings.....a habit that needs to be broken.

I’m 53, around 5”6, and according to the scales today am 69.2kg, 10.4% body fat. Thought it would be a lot worse after the Xmas I’ve had.

Ideally I’d like to be single figure body fat and around 66.5-67kg......shredded and my abs back.

A few years ago when I was 46 I entered a “masters” (old gits) bodybuilding comp on a natural basis.
The results below were after 12 weeks of strict diet/training.....body fat was 6-7% I’m guessing.

Anywhere close to that “shred” would be pleasing.

Good luck everyone, whatever your goal is, it’s worth the effort.

So I've managed a pretty good week of eating using something a little different which Ill let you know about if it keeps working.
Training has been good too and restricted my alchohol to a bottle of wine, one night a week.
Today, 68.4kg and 10.3% so i'm pretty pleased.
Hasnt been too much of a struggle either so thats good.
roll on next week!

Fraught day yesterday so I had to rush out of Boxing, so forgot. Will do it Friday.

I’m half questioning whether this “forgetting” to weigh is a competitive tactic to keep your progress hidden, and the first thing I’m going to hear of our mini contest is a photo saying you’ve already reached the target of 5kg lost!... I used to do this when I was having a contest over how many steps I could do in a day, and I’d turn syncing of my Fitbit off until the end of the day to prevent the other people in the challenge seeing how many I’d done.

I’m not adopting that tactic here, and this morning I weighed 86.6kg. This means I may have lost another kg when I do my proper weigh in on Sunday morning...

P.s. in even better news, there are less than 7 days to the end of Dry January!!! WOOHOO....

Right, I'm unofficially calling it early - before my weekend eating - because this is quite significant.

My official stats will apply on Sunday morning because I expect I'll enjoy food tonight and tomorrow. I have no problem with that either because I'm doing plenty of exercise through the week and keeping well to the eating less than I use overall.

Anyway, today is the first time, possibly in 7 years since I started at my current company, when I've seen my weight start with 18st and not 19st.

Congrats Stevie!.... that’s a great achievement.

Right then
Cycling today on my Mountain Bike around the local fields when a thought occurred.
I am usually in one gear (not many hills on my route) for 90% of the journey and I need to pedal briskly against a low resistance gear to maintain a constant speed.
Is this better or worse or no difference to a different gear with more resistance to pedaling and a less brisk action?

I saw a study somewhere looking into that about cycling cadence. It didn't make much difference apart from to the elite athletes who would train to the higher cadences. For most people of anything up to very good fitness, it's going to be what's more comfy. I'll almost always be cycling in a higher gear than most people for a given speed, because I used to row so have big quads. I just cannot get my legs spinning fast nomatter how much I try!
