Wow. I'm really surprised by some of these. Mined ewe, I'm not really a track day person.

I remember my father having a test drive in a Montego Turbo in the day. Pretty fast and didn't break down on the test drive unlike the Princess several years earlier.

In the '80s I remember renting a Montego at Glasgow airport with 8 miles on the clock. Yes, eight miles. The first time I ever drove such a new car.

It was so reliable it didn't even make it into Glasgow, broke down a couple of miles later on the motorway.

I am aiming for a GS
Mike would love a Lancia Delta Evo II
I would also love a 3.2 Alfa Spider 916
I have a soft spot for the audi TT quattro too!

Lol I am all mixed up. Just about everyone who has owned or owns a 3.0 or 3.2 gtv loves em to bits. They do sound stunning and having a baby 2.0 spider version I see the attraction as they handle so well. I really fancy a GS as well
Lol

Another vote for the 3.2GTV. Ironically I test drive a TT and it was so dyer I bought a TS GTV, much better car and the rest as they say is history!

A lot of the cars already mentioned...

Plus a GTR for some handling fun and some type of E39 BMW because I love them - probably an M5 because you might as well get the fastest.

Matter of taste, isn't it. But 3.0 and 3.2 are *very* different beasts.
2.0 is a lovely thing. Mrs Catman had a 2.0 GTV before her 147. Lovely, but quite 'tinny' compared to the 156 or the GT. Again, my opinion only :)

IMO, forget the Alfas and get yourself a GS.

Not wrong, Benny. As long as it's discretionary and one is not jeopardising home or health :)

Absolutely. However, people shouldn't be looking to buy cars like these if they can't really afford to run them, but I would be prepared to make sacrifices to run a GS instead of any Alfa (excluding an 8c, obviously).
