I'm going to need to spray any new reversing sensor. Suggestions where I can get a can of the correct colour?

TIA

Most paint factors can mix up paints these days; even Halfords do it now. Give them a paint code and they can make up an aerosol.

There is a few web sites that will make up paint too and these are ok for chips but not big areas.

Cheers. It's only the sensor face so it doesn't even need to be that good a match, but may as well get it right.

These guys are near you, they should be able to do it for you a bit better than Halfords. I had one make up for my wheels last week, it was £13, bargain:

Oooh I can drop in on my old bike shop. Not sure about the docs, Elliot, but on the 4200 it's on a sticker in the boot, IIRC.

Engine end C man silver sticker on the shut plate. I would get a can of clear coat to go over the paint so it matches much better.

Hi Matt - you have the same wheels as me. Mind giving me the paint code so I can touch mine up - ooer missus!
Thanks, Moz

Part arrived this morning, which is impressive. Do I need to strip the existing paint, do you think? If so, best way?

Cheers

Could give your dealer a quick call to ask, I'm sure they do this sort of job all the time. Dick Lovett Swindon once gave me a perfect match pot of paint FOC, maybe you can get one from yours if you ask nicely!

An interesting idea, thanks!
Although I fear petrol to my nearest independent will exceed cost of new can ;)

That's a very interesting question C-man, I know these are very sensitive to water on them giving you a false warning but I have no idea how much paint is too much! I'd think a water based remover like Nitro-Morse would be ok, it is more about keeping the channel clear around the sensor plate I believe.

Cheers, Newton.

I never knew Nitromoors was water based. There's what looks like quite a chunk of paint on it already, so I think stripping is the best idea.

But maybe not with Nitromors, in fact:

Not suitable for removing car paint or for contact with plastics

Unless you know better, Newton? Frankly I put more faith in your knowledge than the Halfrauds website.....
