The good morning thread

My sympathies, Mark. I saw the same decline in my dear Dad, he passed 5 years ago. It's awful to witness, made worse for me that my Mum had to endure the worst of it. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last Friday. Mum spent the day alone, not wanting to see anyone. Heart breaking.
I lost both my parents after what were quite short illnesses and felt almost cheated that we didn’t have time to say goodbye, but when I read these stories of dementia I wonder if their rather sudden passings were in some way a blessing.
My heart goes out to you all.

Morning all. Office for the morning and then off to London for a meeting at 3. With a possibility of a beer or two after.

Quite frankly getting on a train on the hottest day of the year (until tomorrow) reminds me of why I'm so glad I don't work in London any more!

Morning - covering Concours on Savile Row today and tomorrow. If you’re in London pop down - it’s free to attend and there’ll be at least one Maserati on show.

I popped over to have a look after my meeting this afternoon.
Had to have a closer look (and sit in) the MC20.

Having been a bit ‘meh’ about them in the photos. Having now seen one in the flesh. They’re absolutely gorgeous. Especially in the grey.
A massive want from me!

As it’s a nice evening I thought I’d take the Spyder out for a little run, and I’m really glad I did. Unsurprisingly she’s showing her age now but, compared to the Jaaag, she has so much character. The sound is still Incredible and, for such a leggy old girl, still has a decent turn of speed. I must use her more this summer even though she gives less than half the mpg of the F Type. Despite the occasional faux pas as of late she still makes me happy to give her a beasting. Great cars.

Morning chaps and don't envy either of you.
Cost of living is a big problem today and noticing it here as I do most of our groceries.
Only two of us but we're spending more and Ms French doing a hours driving a day in here 500 twinair spending more on fuel.
For families it must be getting hard as teenagers always hungry.
Nearly the weekend :)

Nice to read that those back home have some sun too - our plot of yesterday worked well - out early (9am is early for us!!) so we'll repeat today as it meant we missed the thunder storms and torrential rain (no fun driving in). It'll be another little explore in a different direction with a pass or two (they are virtually impossible to avoid in this region). But first it's to the bakery (sounds a bit French, doesn't it ;))

Good Morning all, at work for a change. Glad @BennyD that you're still enjoying the Spyder, especially on these long summer evenings. It's what the car was built for.
As for the cost of living, it's a global thing not down to some political party, so don't blame them, just blame them for taking so much in national taxes and wasted spending.

Anyway the sun is shining so make the most of it.

Morning all, I had a great evening out on the river, much more relaxed given more extreme conditions! Today I have a couple of invoices to raise, pack and then off to near Heathrow to do a couple of inspections, Milton Keynes to deliver a net, then up to Selby to look at some stuff in the factory. After this I can go to Middlesbrough and drop some bits to Christine and then north to Lindisfarne for a weekend of kayaking around the various islands. I’ll be sleeping in the van for which I have bought a large awning tent at a bargain price of £95. It has hardly been used and is about £750 new so chuffed with that.

Have fun all…

Morning everyone.
Random one for me today - I’m just off for some champagne on board Concorde!
Plus a look around the museum at Brooklands.
Should be a fun day.

Morning all. Half day for me before heading back to London for dinner (Gaucho's) with Polish clients who are over in London which will also include several bottles of red followed by beers and probably whisky.

Should be a decent night.

Hotel room booked!
