Morning all. Office until 11.30ish and then off to a funeral this afternoon.
Funerals are never much fun, but this is for the next door neighbour of my parent (and mine when I lived at home) who died from dementia related illness.
It brings it home when she was diagnosed with dementia after my dad. Yet she has passed sooner. I guess being with my mum has slowed his decline.

Awful, awful disease.

Morning Andy and everyone.
Boy it was hot yesterday and getting hotter today and onwards.
Still not complaining as I like it Ms French and the Cats prefer the shade.
Think I will have a better than than last year :)
Have a Great day all.

Good morning from sunny Pieve di Legro - it's bag packing time as we're moving on to the Dolomites for three nights - 10 miles east of Cortina d'Ampezzo as the crow flies, 20 miles as the roads go!! It's a big run for us - 150 miles and 4 hours - the more scenic route is even longer and we could well be passed out with that.

Morning all. Back in the office today. Busy day as I'm out the office for the rest of the week.
Funeral yesterday was quite an upbeat affair (as funerals go) but also very sad as my fathers decline due to dementia is more and more pronounced.
To the point where he recognised me, but couldn't remember my name. "number one son" is the best he could manage. I'll take that. (every cloud and all that).

I guess I have to accept he is no longer the man I once knew, just a shell of him. A very frail one at that.

Sad to read, Mark. Awful illness.

Morning, all. Back from Le Mans after a week with some of the finest people in the land. Could be bad timing, but blood tests are booked for Thursday morning, 3kg of flies and miscellaneous wildlife de Francais need to be scraped off the front of the car and my liver will need some tender nurture to regenerate itself. Also a tyre needs repairing. The little Vantage behaved itself wonderfully. It's a very nice place to be. Whether on a longer run with the valves closed and music on or eyes closed, thrashing up some country roads and screaming in terror it's a wonderful car.

My sympathies, Mark. I saw the same decline in my dear Dad, he passed 5 years ago. It's awful to witness, made worse for me that my Mum had to endure the worst of it. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last Friday. Mum spent the day alone, not wanting to see anyone. Heart breaking.

Morning, all. Proper weather here. Sadly I have some chunky meetings so will be unable to make the most of it

Oh well, pays the bills :)

Have a great one, all

Seems like it could be another good morning here in this amazing apartment in Auronzo di Cadore - the clouds are evaporating - but storms are in the forecast so we are attempting an early up and out - over to Cortina D'Ampozza and then who knows - I think we are spoilt for choice.

Morning all, Outdoors inspecting AM, unloading and reloading the van PM and then kayaking on the Crouch this evening ahead of a trip north for the weekend, so I will be able to enjoy the sunshine today.

Have fun all...

Good morning everyone, last day off so going to enjoy the sunshine today. Yesterday was spent washing and removing French flies and mud from the GT. It now pings again.

Work work work today. Three weeks of it and then holiday. Whilst having two holidays in quite rapid succession is great, it does leave a helluva long gap until the next one, which is not great.
