Sorry for not replying sooner, I've been away on business for the past 3 weeks.

With my job I can get sent abroad at a moments notice but as long as I'm in the country on the 11th then I'll be there. I can be there any time from about 14:00 onwards.

To the Wirral Maser owners (Lee H / Froddy) - do either of you live in Spital? I visited my parents the other day and spotted/remembered that the house next but one to theirs has a grey 3200 on the driveway.....

Her brother lost a kidney when he was 3 and the other coped well till his late 30's. he has never drunk any alcohol and was very fit and active. He first realised there was a problem about 7 years ago and a test then showed he was down to about 25% function. This figure has been slowly dropping ever since but on the plus side the point at which dialisis and or transplant is necessary has also been dropping thanks to recent advances in medication.

The immediate family were all approached as potential live donors about 4 years ago and his sister (my wife) came out as the best match (quite a common outcome). So we have been living with the probability of the operation for some time but as I say the medication available has been improving very quickly as have the anti-rejection drugs they will need to build him on prior to the op.

About 18 months ago they were talking that it needed to be done at 12% function and a kidney from a dead donor would last maybe 10 years / live maybe 15-20 years. He is currently down to just 6% function and supported by a variation of dialisis involving pumping his abdomen with 3 litres of fluid every morning and draining it out in the evening! They are estimating a live donation lasting 25-30 years which he is more than happy with as that would see him into his 70's... not bad as dialisis is stilll only good for a few years at best.

Sorry to ramble but 'its good to talk', it's a fairly humbling situation to be able to give someone, especially one of your own a return to good health....

I drove past a 3200 in West kirby the other day, but I was in my work vehicle.
Is your dads a dark ish colour?

BTW - I used to be a Wirral man and have lived in Bebington and West Kirby and once went out with a girl from Meols.... Its a small world!

Froddy - my mate lives down station road in Lower Heswall and he's always telling me about a Maser which goes past his house - sounds pretty meaty apparently. Maybe this is your dad?

That's so funny! My Old Man lives round the corner from Station Road, so it's almost certainly his car. Has your mate just bought a 4200 Spyder by any chance? If he has, he knows my old man as he spoke before taking the plunge (and my old man bought a Renault GTA off him about 15 years ago). If it's not your mate, perhaps he needs to be told about the forum? He may come along to the meet.

My dad's car sounds absolutely gorgeous - has a SS sports exhaust. Part of me hopes he never finds a buyer ...

Hi Folks

Well sorry to say I am now going to have to go on the Maybe list.

I work for a ski comapny and it looks like I will be running a ski test/demo on the weekend of the 12th/13th,
so I will be travelling all day of the 11th. Of course the above is subject to weather conditions,
but for now I will have to bow out!!!

Shame as this only round the corner from my house.
