If you put aftermarket bolts on remember to tell your insurance company. Your standard ones may be rusty but are not going to fail. Just paint them silver every so often.

I would go for Hills myself. I wouldn’t be super happy with a titanium bolt that cheap.

To give you some idea, the carbon brake bolts are M6 bolts and the discounted rate for titanium was £55 each, minimum quantity was 36 bolts.
That has to be the first time Larini and cheap have been mentioned together.

The standard bolt length is 58mm. Add your spacer thickness and Robert is your mother’s brother.

Where Ewan lives that could mean anything. Robert could easily be his brother as well.

Anyway, I had some bolts from Formula Dynamics and they were total rubbish. I'm wondering if they were re-selling Larini, based on Sprout's experience. Flaked, rusted, looked awful. Spending extra is worth it, in my humble.

I have a local plating company I am going to call this week for costs. They also do satin nickel plating so if viable I may get this done so they are closer to the wheels.

CHROME PLATING DECORATIVE (BRIGHT)
CHROME PLATING DECORATIVE (SATIN – PEARL, BRIGHT)
CHROME PLATING BLACK
COPPER PLATING – BARREL & RACK
NICKEL PLATING – BARREL & RACK, SEMI BRIGHT – BRIGHT & PEARL
ZINC PLATING – BARREL AND RACK
FINISHES – BRIGHT & YELLOW
Other finishes available by request.

Polishing Process List:
Most types of metal polishing:
HAND POLISHING: ALUMINIUM – BRASS – STAINLESS STEEL – MILD STEEL

I was quite happy with the stainless steel bolts I bought from a former member. I had them for 5 years but I did shear one. Quite easily actually, so I'd stick with the originals from now on.

I was in there between lockdowns looking at vapour deposition coatings. It’s a proper old school operation.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Looks like I will probably be replacing the car instead. Somewhat a nuclear course of action but any excuse...

Thanks

Ha ha. Larini have seriously pi55ed me off. I know its only the wheel nuts but it definitely makes me wonder about getting sports cats and x pipe off them. That said, who else is there?

I love the car but the excessive amount of time being able to browse in lock down has been my downfall (not that I can go anywhere of course!)

The new bolts for my Gran Turismo arrived from Hill Engineering last week. Not cheap, at £11.50 each plus VAT and delivery, but they look good.

This stuff might be worth a go as a way of refreshing tired wheel nuts.

If you have a look on youtube there are some quite impressive results on various test pieces. The same stuff would work for the air vent rings on 4200/GS as well although it may be to bright a finish for that.

@Sprogs was the chap that used to do them for us, worth sending him a PM

From memory they were high tensile stainless and the quality was amazing.

£200 was a figure I seem to remember.

If you do fit them only ever torque them to 105nm and no more.

From the same guys that brought you Black 3.0, the blackest black. I wonder if you have to sign a disclaimer that you are not Jeff Koons for the mirroriest mirror chrome?
