Possible clutch failure

Elliott, I'd say it's unlikely to be the release bearing, more likely either the clutch itself or the diaphragm spring. If it's the spring the gear change will be audibly clunky, but as it's all part of the clutch it's a moot point really, unless you have a warranty. If it's the spring you could argue failure rather than wear.

Well my pet owl has steadily become a more ever present feature of my car over the last 28 months of ownership and 14,000 miles. Driving her the last couple of days however the owl has been joined by an initially imperceptible "YIP" on the lower changes but this evening it has become quite noticeable.

Anyone had this; I'm inclined to think it is so worn it is the rivets going "YIP"... IT was replaced at 13,000 and now at 54,300 so 41,000 is pretty darn good going for a clutch on one of these beasties. Especially as almost every one of those miles has been on the raggedy edge!!!!

Well the flywheel is pretty cheap, £200 region so I doubt your going to cause too much damage.
