Kev Rumens, a good mate of mine, flew that Vulcan on displays until it was grounded. Towards the end he barrel rolled it just to prove it could be done. Unfortunately, it was filmed by some one on the ground and the CAA pulled his display licence. He also gave Ryan a personal fly-past on the way back from a display.
I drove an English Electric Class 37 diesel loco for like 30 feet at Southall when I was at BR, Railtrack, insert TOC here, that's it I'm afraid!
I used to work at the factory where they used to build these amazing machines. Our chief test pilot ( Al Mcdicken) used to fly them back in the day.From Weston a couple of years ago. No photos of the vertical bit but was awesome.
