Just seen this. Doncaster is not too far away, and it would be good to get close-up and personal with the Vulcan.

Doohickey, can I just book my place for now, as I'm not sure of a +1 at this stage?

Cheers,
T

1. Doohickey
2. Zep + 1
3. BennyD 2 (Saturday evening)
4. Newton +1
5. Jkulin +3 others - Saturday night only, but will confirm over the coming week.
6. MrPea (Saturday night only - might book the hotel separately as I have money off I can use)... SPX - you know you want to add yourself!
7. npaskin +1 - will probably be lunch + Vulcan only, not staying at hotel as we will be staying a short drive away for other (family) reasons.
8. SPX.
9. Yorkshire Trident +1 (maybe +2) - lunch and Vulcan only
10. D Walker + 1 - lunch and Vulcan only
11 Arfa +1 - lunch and Vulcan only
12 Mjheathcote -lunch and vulcan (hotel not required)
13 ChrisN +1 - lunch and Vulcan only
14 Tilum - lunch and Vulcan only (+1 TBC)

No problem. We needed to get to 20 for the group visit which we have now done but there doesn't appear to be an upper limit. I've got to confirm all the names the week before so we are OK to add on until then.

David, might be an idea if we send you the money now, that way you won't be out of pocket if anyone cancels.

Thanks John but they are happy to take the money on the day so I'm fine. I do need to sort the hotel out so will confirm what is needed for that early next week.

As a general bump - anymore interested?

Thought I'd bump this to see if there are any more takers. Going to confirm numbers to the pub and hotel at the weekend.

Hi David,

Have you made the hotel bookings yet? I'll mention I'm with the group when I make my booking. Also, hoping that a friend will confirm he can join in the fun in the next few days.

Somewhat unhelpfully the Vulcan people have emailed to say that they have an event in the evening of 7 May and so we can't have the slot they gave me! They've offered us 12pm instead which I have accepted.

I've moved the lunch to 2.30pm at the Hare and Tortoise which is only 10 mins from the airport. In order to get served quickly when we get there, we can pre-order, so please send me your choices which I need to confirm about a week before hand so I will stick a reminder up nearer the time. The menu is here:

http://www.vintageinn.co.uk/content...e/thehareandtortoisedoncaster/restaurantsfood

The hotel is also booked at £116 for singles and £128 for doubles B+B. We only need 8 rooms (5 x doubles and 3 x singles) so there's no need to pay a deposit. I have guaranteed the rooms with my card though so don't forget to pay!!

Stevie: I can add another room to the booking if you want.

If you are planning on going to Cars in the Park the Sunday morning then you can book here http://www.carsinthepark.org.uk/. You need to register - at the moment there's only one Maserati.......

Thanks for all your efforts, David.

Mildly annoying of them doing that, but it just swaps around the order of things so it's not really a bad thing. Also, a later lunch means less dinner required, and therefor freeing up that time for slow sipping of beverages.
You've done well with the hotel group rate - nice!

Stevie: I can add another room to the booking if you want.

Thanks for the offer - I've actually now booked a twin room for Chris and me.

Having him coming does change a couple of things chaps: 1) SPX, I'm afraid the 2nd seat in my spyder is taken, so you'll have to bring the Rangy... full of beer! 2) You'll all need to rib Chris because he's a North American (Canadian) petrol-head who drives a 'Stang (alright, it's quite an impressive one) - just doesn't have the elegance and refinement of the Maserati.

Hi David, I will need two singles and one double bedded room, just wanted to clarify that if that isn't too much of a problem?

John,

I've booked that for you.

Doubles are for you, Zep, Newton, Benny and Dave Walker. 2 singles for you and the other for me.

4 weeks tomorrow for this so a bump to see if anyone else is interested.

Lunch is booked for 30 so there's some spare spaces and I only need to confirm the names and numbers to the Vulcan Experience the week before.

The hotel has reserved us parking right outside the door and an area in the bar for a libation or two from 8pm.

No-one has confirmed their lunch order! I'll pm in a couple of weeks to remind.

As I have had to send the addresses to my family, I thought it might help if I paste them here, hope you don't mind David, just thought it might save us Southerners getting lost!

Indeed - it's about an hour but it's always really busy around 9. We don't need to be there that early, especially if it becomes a typical SM trip the night before.
