Bummer. I trust you escaped injury, it's easier to fix the car. If it's cat D I'll give you £10k for it!

Oh Fred, that is such a shame mate.

I take it nobody was injured which is the main thing.

It does not look too bad, a wing, headlight and a bumper plus some other bits you can't see and as long as the guy was insured, it should cost you nothing.

His insurance company may ask you to get several quotes, but you are within your rights to demand it only goes to Maserati to be fixed.

Oh, and get a hire car, your aloud a like for like car.

Fortunately, he was insured and has admitted full liabilty.
A Plan insurance are organising the repair with H R Owen so things on that side are working out. They're even asking the other insurance company for compensation for probable loss of value.
All passengers are fine thank god, we're not even claiming for whiplash, even thought we're being pressurised by the claim handling people.
My replacement loan car (a 2011 Maserati QP) will be arriving this afternoon! I was tempted by the offer of an Aston Rapide though, thought it could be fun, but no - I want to remain untarnished by all this.

That's Life - Fred
and thanks for all your comforting statements.

Well hats off to you for not claiming the whiplash, I am in the same camp as you. We all end up paying it back in inflated insurance premiums anyway.

Aplan are good, but yes I know what you mean about their claims department, they are wolves!

Very sorry for you. Watch the cost of the replacement car and your liability. I am with A Plan and am covered for up to £4k of replacement car rental. Theoretically not an issue with the other party admitting liability but worth a thought.

Glad you're all OK. What a crying shame that its happened, let alone to a 6 week old car! Unbelievable. The other guy must have puked! That'll sting his insurer....a 2011 QP on hire isnt cheap!

... we're not even claiming for whiplash, even thought we're being pressurised by the claim handling people.

This bit makes me angry. You absolutely SHOULD claim if you have an injusry, but if you're being encouraged to claim without an injury, the claim handling poeple need putting out of business. Apalling.

I hope it gets sorted quickly and painlessly

Can you believe it, they just delivered the rental QP, with a flashing message "Parking Brake fault - go to dealer" - so that's gone now!
but fortunately I just got an email to say I was selected by MSN to win £1,000,000 - What a perfect day! lol!

Fred I'm sorry to hear this, perhaps when you order your next QP you should get a more obvious colour so people can see you coming...

I suggest the errant driver gets a one way ticket to Specsavers!

Ouch indeed! Fred, I'm pleased everyone was okay. H R Owen won't cut any corners with the repair and it sounds as though your insurer is keeping their end of the bargain. Hope you get her sorted soon.

I feel for you Fred! At least you have some one to claim off, when the Deer smashed up my front end it turned out blighter wasn't insured....
I'm sure it will be as good as new in a few week's time, but still a pain in the "A hole"
Glad you and your passengers are all fine.

No he wasn't Fred!

Really sorry to hear this. I remember your proud post when you picked her up.

I can empathise with the sinking feeling you would have had. A few years ago and anly 3 days after picking up my brand new Alfa GTA a girl drove into the back of it. I could see her coming in the last few moments and had no where to go in the traffic. She was doing her make up in her mirror!... and what was she driving?

A CORSA!
