Just caught up with this Fred , my condolences mate , gotta watch those corsa drivers like blooody ants everywhere , if Owens are sorting it then it will be Body technics of slough doing the repair , £27K plus car hire plus bits and bobs is write off territory , definately if you have gap insurance cover , me i would take the money and re order the same car , at their exppense your entitled to it

re the whiplash thing its horses for courses , just hope it doesn't come back to haunt you in the neck or shoulders later on, i know several people all elderly as it happens who settled early and now have terrible problems

Fred

Good news is only metal weas damaged, nobody hurt. As Loz said, do get a proper medical check. My Daughter couldn't horse ride for a year after minor bang. How would you manage if you had enforced weeks off work?

Bad luck on the crash and all the hassle, remember to claim what you're entitled to. Imagine it is now 2013 and look back to see if you felt short-changed.

Minor crash when someone tail-ended me 20 years ago and I didn't claim anything except my own car damage. Ended up in small claims court, and could have had all my expenses, days off work + legal costs if only I had thought. Ohter driver admitted liablilty, AND gave a hand written letter with the same on it. Then backed out when bill arrived. Proper PITA.

Hi Loz

I thought about the write off, but they still haven't come back to me. To answer your question P, the cars was 104k, but they took my Lexus 450rh as 50% deposit and are doing the rest at 0% interest at 100.00 pre month for two years and balance of 47k at the end (guaranteed residual of 57k. I may get my wife and her paerents checked out, but she's got shoulder pain, but claims is always been there. Don't worry I'm working on her to go.

Thanks for all the sympathy, it's nice to have some people on your side.

At a guess six weeks Panamera hire will almost equal the cost of the repair assuming 500-600 a day and that the six weeks will probably turn into eight!

Close call on the total loss I would say, the numbers are certainly impressive!

The E class I was in for a month was only £45 pd. To my mind, putting someone into a car of equal value to that damaged seems excessive. No wonder premiums are through the roof.

Sympathy to you, though, Fred. Was your QP a full factory order or did you buy a physical car? Reason I ask is I wonder when they will start running down QP production ahead of the new car?

My QP was a factory order. Ordered on 28th September delivered 14th December. Only change I would make is heated rear seats (too many passenger complaints), but three months!!!
Stretched beetle is 5hite. Four wheel drive should be good in snow, but it jerks on full lock, apparently it is the ackerman principle.
Vehicle has been inspected by the other chap's insurance, but still waiting for approval. What's the delivery time on a Ferrari FF, even the dog doesn't like the Porch.

Pretty sure if you were prepared to visit the factory you could halve that waiting time , senor carrozzia would sort you out

H R Owen are hoping to get approval this week, so I'm off to Moscow tomorrow and should get an indication of the outcome by Monday. The only problem of a write-off, is I lose the rental car during the wait for a new one. I would need some compensation for that, but don't think there's any chance of that. Hate the idea of having to use the old purple Audi 80!!

WooHoo!!!

It's back, good looking as ever, the Porsche Panamera is out of my life (I had it so long, I nearly began to like it.)

Got a few days to find little niggles, like the rattle behind the dash, but one day....... Insurance company trying to get me a loss of value payment - Hmmm, might buy a Corsa!!
