New F type Jag

Just had a play with an f-type rag-top on a dual carriage way and the sound was kinda awesome...but I left him way behind so he had a chance to hear my V8 too! Not sure if he just wasn't trying or if it really is that unimpressive...lots of bark, little bite. Didn't sound like he was backing off though, and I could hear him over my own engine even from behind!

I heard one giving it some stick on Saturday and was really underwhelmed by the sound. It was admittedly a fleeting encounter going in the opposite direction but it reminded me of a car with a broken exhaust rather than something lovely.

Nice enough sound but I preferred the noise of the XKR-S on Top Gear last night. Happily i also prefer the noise our cars make.

If that's what was in top gear (I've just watched it) it should be fitted as standard. Some shallow people buy cars just on the basis of how they sound *looks unapologetically sheepish*

The V6 does 0-60 in I think it's 4.8 secs and V8 in 4.2 secs, so I don't think he was trying if you left him behind easily. They sound and look Maserati, or should be..!!

It was a rolling start, so we were probably both setting off from 25-30mph. Saw him coming up so slowed down to get a look, but he slowed alongside & revved. Both floored it & when I looked, he was behind...didn't sound like he missed a gear or anything.

I saw one parking up near the Seven Notes event on Wednesday. It was grey. Have to say it didn't really have that much presence though the looks were pretty good. This is not a car that looks great in every colour. I think red and white are probably most suitable.

Cannot touch a GT for style and sheer presence.
