Agreed. Much more elegant.

But I'd struggle to avoid the V8. Mind you, there are no used V8 coupes on the market at the moment. Plenty of convertibles.

There are plenty of V8 convertibles about because they are too much of a handful for the average driver. It's good on paper getting the 'best' of the range but going sideways in a straight line will wear thin pretty quickly for most.

The V8 is a lot more money as well over the V6 ... about 30k......Question is....is the V8 30k better than the V6...

I think the V6S is by far the best value, I'd imagine the V8 to be epic but £30k for a bigger engine is a lot of dough in anyone's book. The cars are more or less the same visually apart from a small side skirt and exhausts, which I also agree look far better on the V6.I'd imagine the V8 will be a better second hand buy as it will shed its value quicker.

It's strange how the convertible looked expensive but the coupe looks cheap. The coupe has a lot going for it.

+1
Everyone expected the car to be £50k, but as they launched the convertible first at near £60k or near £70k for the V6S
it looked way over priced. The coupe being £7k cheaper is the better car and a good chunk cheaper, the CAP value at 3 years old is 55% or the same a 911, the convertible was 40%.I'm really pleased I waited for the coupe :)

Yours is without doubt completely gorgeous, Lofty. Great spec. Probably the best engine, too, however enticing the V8 might be. I'm amazed at the 30k price difference, no idea it was that much. Regardless of cost I'd fall a long way short of getting the best out of it. In any case the V6 does sound tremendous.

Would agree Lofty and it's the one I would imagine most will go for....Plus you could spend the extra £30k on a used QP for when you need 4 seats.........Put it like that and the V8 seems a little expensive.

There is a 2014 V8 5.0ltr on PH for £63,500, done less than 8K miles, that's quite a depreciation from £80K..!!

If its a decent spec it'll be nearer £90k. My mate had one specced up to £92k but only paid £82k for it brand new. Kept it for 3 months, hated it and chopped it in against an R8 V10 spyder and was given £62k in part ex. He lost more in 3 months than I paid for mine and I like to remind him of that every now and then!

After the SCD Highlands tour I've just got back from, no one who went doubts the value for money these cars are. Just over 1400 hard miles in the company of high value exotica and she didn't miss a beat, she kept the flag flying and entertained the locals. She did drink like a drunken matelot but I'll forgive her her only vice. An absolute gem of a car, truely special.

Picked up a copy of Autocar today, the F Type R up against a R8, 911 TurboS, Nissan GTR.The F-Type gets 4.5 stars compared to the other three's 4 stars, pretty impressive stuff from the newcomer. After I said the other day it is overpriced, it actually looks quite cheap in this company, only the Nissan is cheaper, the 911 is £55k more
