Right then Loz, get the kitchen roll to hand, here finally is your Petro-****.

Some shots of the car, including a cheaky one through the front wheel arch. Car has had some more bits done around some small items, pipes etc. The centre section exhaust is to go in, oil water plug leads and she should be good to fire up. Can't say when but soon I hope. Sorry it's taken so long but the guys were on leave or away racing so couldn't find the right time to get over there.

Enjoy......

Ta guys & gal.

Itchy is not the word Loz. Was hoping they had fired her by now but some minor delays kicked in. Andrew I hope she's back before the bad weather, I wanted to get some miles on her as I wanted the heads re-torqued before she's put to bed for winter. Still got to get an MOT when she returns from Migliore but as she's been no where in the last 16 months that should be a formality.

Still she's in good hands, they have done sterling work.

Bal. That is stunning. And I don't even like silver cars. Definitely one of the best Khamsins I've ever seen. If ever you want rid, I'll have it.

I have to say, I always admired the shape of the Khamsin from Top Trumps, (one or two years back, now), although it struggled to usurp the Countach/ Boxer for excitement.
Now it still looks fabulous, perhaps better than ever - there is a real sophistication and class oozing from it - it doesn't appear to try too hard, be 'over the top', or outrageous, but looks stylish from every angle. It has aged very well.

Bal,
My congratulations - through this thread it appears you have 'done it properly', and not cut corners, as must be so tempting with the costs involved. The model looks terrific and your car will be a fantastic example. I really hope to see it in the flesh, soon. Fantastic.

LMAO, you still got it Loz.

Thanks for the positove feedback guys. It's been too long since I was behind the wheel. Though my friend Paul Santoni let me have a go in his example a few months back, it's an experience that has to be savoured.

No further news from Migliore this week, was hoping it would have been fired up but......

I'll leave them be until next week and have a chat about progress. David, as for cutting corners, there's no point as you say. These cars are gonna start the ascent which will be good. The guides are now listing £40K+ figures for mint examples, which I know my car isn't but it does give you an incentive to do it right.
Not that I have any thoughts of parting with her. My plan was to get it across to Dijon next year for the 40th anniversary of the design launch at Geneva. Marc Sonnery of the KhamsinRegistry site has arranged a get together for as many Khamsins as possible from all over, if I can get her there it should be awesome.......

Its Alive.............

Well after a few last minute issues she came alive today. The guys ran her for 15 mins or so to bring up to temperature.
Tomorrow they will check over the coolant as without a rn the air locks wouldn't have come out.

Issues before this, 4 of the ignition leads were shot and the distributer cap had an issue between two contacts. So £222 pounds later the new items were delivered today by McGraths and "Its Alive......"
The other issue that came up was smoke coming from the steering column when they were crannking the engine over on Monday to build up oil pressure before actual ignition. Not sure what's going on here but nowt was wromg when she went in so will go over on Saturday to see what's going on. For the moment the column switces have been disconnected for safety.
And another gremlin is that the interior lights are staying on.

But these little items are sent to keep us from mischief. I can't wait to hear the sound of a proper V8 again.......... I'll keep you posted.
