Too right Adam,

I'm just hoping winter holds off long enough for me to rack up some miles.

Hopefully nothing serious on the wring front, but I'm going down to check it out and see what's happened during the 16 months of inactivity.

I didn't make it to Migliore on Saturday, the guys were busy offsite. Won't make it again this weekend as my normal car is booked in for a service.

They spent last week running the engine up and fine tuning the carbs etc. Then the LHM hydraulic system was filled up connected and bled. All was good until yesterday when a puddle was found under the car. Appears to be a leak on the water pump, which will mean removal and another rebuild with new seals. Kevin was going to put a camera in there to see if he can work out where it's coming from before reaching for the spanners.

So that leaves the following;

Balance wheels (were at their tyre guys place yesterday, but are an awkward design that doesn't fit onto normal balancing machines)
Correct water leak
Update Aircon and needed and re-gas
Bonnnet back on
And look into Wiring issue

Of all of them the latter worries me.

I'll keep you all posted.

Hope these are nothing more than final fixes Bal and that she's back with you before too much longer.

Nearly there.........

Just a small update.

The water pump has not leaked any more since last week.
Air-con has now been done and working ok
A small leak at the clutch slave cylinder as been fixed.
What remains is the wirig issue and getting an MOT.
Unfortunately I cannot meet up with the guys as they are busy so will have to try to get there maybe in the week.

Car is starting and running fine from what the guys tell me.

Well,

I arranged to meet up with the guys at Migliore after work today. Car is now complete with the wiring issue sorted out (was a frayed wire in the steering column)
Sitting on her own wheels and sounding great. A MOT is needed and I can pick her up, can't wait to drive her so hopefully nothing untoward comes out of the test.

Just took a couple of quick shots before I left, not the best position, but thought you all would want to see pictures.

Guys,

What can I say, you are all correct. Since coming back from viewing her I've had that funny feeling in my stomach as well, you hit the nail on the head Loz. And yes I'm ready to crack open that bottle as soon as we can get together, You all would be more than welcome to join me. I feel we've all been through the whole process together and as far as I'm concerned that makes you all family as well as friends.

She sounded sweet, much quieter than before now that the exhaust joints are more sorted out, ticking over nicely purring away.

Hope the weather holds off long enough for some miles to be clocked up, all these folk are talking crazy talk about snow. Just gotta chase up my mate for the wheel trims.

Return of the ?

Well,

I kept it quiet just in case, but she returned home today...........

MOT went well last Wednesday so I had the green light to pick her up.

Short drive home with plenty of changes in revs used to ensure a gentle break in. Engine very responsive though I kept under 3K to be gentle.

Drive home ok, apart from a slight pull to the right, which can be looked into when it goes for an oil change after 500 miles. That is my quest in the next few weeks to rack up 500 miles as a minimum to run the engine in before the weather turns.

Some pics my lad took on the drive home from the chase car, apologies for those taken through dirty windows.

Every inch of her a true classic , and now she has a new heart to match bravo mate , you must be overjoyed Bal , we have just been watching from the side lines and its been titterlating and exciting to say the least credit to everyone involved , just love that classic glass rear end , almost make the indy's and ghibli's rear end look mundane ,

If you need to clock up that 500 miles as Andrew says best we get that Midlands meet at Robins pub sorted soon as , and in daylight so we can get some good picks just let us know soon as im pretty sure we'll get a good turnout
