After a small delay for DVLA to change the plates, I picked up a beautiful Sebring blue coupe 4200 CC today. Special thanks to Kev and Trudi for such an easy and brilliant private sale. The car is immaculate and new tyres/clutch etc all added to the enjoyment of driving to Southampton, in spite of the atrocious English weather!

Also, a big thanks to Matt and Ashley at Sportsitalia near Southampton for being so kind as to set up the new clutch without much warning - what a fantastic place and great people. Will be booking the service etc shortly. Apologies that I don’t know how to tag people but hopefully you all read this.

Finally, the car is a credit to Newton as well who I know spent many a day/week/years(!) making it such a pleasure. I haven’t read the manual yet, so I couldn’t work out the 18th century satnav etc, but that should be some fun in the pub shortly. More updates and pics etc later.
cheers

Is this the same Newton's that was stolen, eventually recovered, and sold on copart? That was Sebring Blue I think.

How fantastic to have it back in the fold. Does it still have the special induction kit @Kiwibrit ? (did you see what I did there?) ;)

I'm impressed @CatmanV2 ...i learn something everyday...nearly. Unfortunately my technical knowledge doesn't extend much beyond the words 'right pedal' so I can't answer your question! . I do know that it sounds astonishing and I have already received 2 waving thumbs up in town earlier. The car has been garaged and cherished for the past 4 years so it also looks magnificent. Personally I would rather know the provenance of a car l (even its unfortunate moment with toerags who couldn't even find the petrol cap release!) than buy an unknown quantity again.

IIRC, that was taken shortly before Hodroyd’s carnage, and I still shudder at the thought. Having said that, it was a fantastic trip.

Yes, it had a custom made (by the man himself) induction set up. Small children would occasionally get sucked into the engine ;)

I'm sure many others on that trip will have photos to share with you. @2b1ask1 must have some as well

Congratulations on the purchase, looks like a lovely car and clearly known on the forum.
Matt and Ash are top guys, will be seeing them myself later this week.

You're right there @Scaf (I'm learning fast). Such a nice change to going into franchises.

As I said to Matt earlier this week, I think I'm about ready to see the old girl again now. Maybe there is something in the date, it was stolen in the morning of 16th May2016 so five yeas to the day! Kev has clearly done the paintwork and wheels sensationally well. I get the feeling Trudy wouldn't have settled for anything less :) I have to say I absolutely loved that car, I just don't have the same reaction for the GS. For me it was perfectly set up and I couldn't have been happier with the sound track I developed for it both in and out!

I'm glad it has found a new home back on here, enjoy the smiles it will surely bring. Have fun Guy...

Remember the previous owners bringing it up to one of our Cotswolds meets shortly after they bought it.

Nice to see it back on the forum.

When I went to my first SM event (Brunty about 9 years ago) Newton gave me a sighting lap from the passenger seat of this beauty. Good to see it back.

Thanks Guy it was good to see her again apologise for not spending more time but as you could see with 30+ cars on site, time is precious.

She looked in fine fettle and testament to the previous custodians.

Looking forward to seeing her again soon.

The car looks great and it was exactly this colour combo that persuaded me to blow the budget 4 years ago and purchase a low mileage 4200 CC. This is my facelift model (2007) in Sebring Blue with light grey leather interior. I’ve been really pleased with the reliability (tempting fate here!) and the comfort combined with effortless power for long cruises. You’ll love it.85824
