I don't think there is a problem with the battery, it sounds like a new one would do the same.

If it happens again it's definitely worth half an hour with an auto sparkie. Take their findings to your dealer and embarrass them into action. Present them with the sparkies bill as well.

most batteries dont like going completely flat, their never the same. I went through loads with my lotus esprit as i did not use the car enough, got my money out of halfords due to the 4 year guarantee though!
Might be worth when pitch black having a good look around the car, it could be glovebox/boot light staing on etc due to malaligned switches?

I think it's time to start looking at some alternatives, the oem are obviously not up to the job.

Especially if V8s....guts them if not in tip-top shape......fail with out warning.....plus can give a bit of bother before hand.....but you would like some sorta diagnosis!

Mirror and sensors have gone yet again, also Satnav just stops guiding for no reason.

Will have to drop it back off to Lancaster yet again!

jumping in here quickly - on the subject of satnavs - does anyone know if a 2005 CC 4200 satnav can be updated to do a postcode search? I have heard that just getting a new mapping disac is not enough and that the unit in the car needs to be 'flashed' and rewritten?

Sorry Don, the softwear in the NIT is very basic and the ECU in there does not carry enough power or memory
