Mine have always played up. I get the little light telling me they're not working from time to time. Sometimes it's solved with the old switch it off and on again trick and sometimes it isn't. I've just put it down to being Italian and never trust them (...the parking sensors, not Italians in general :D )

I did try cleaning them out with a fine brush beforehand but no joy, it was a faulty front sensor

Rear light changed under warranty and mirror fixed although sent it back to them as it popped off the following week. Apparently I also have the latest firmware loaded so will try uploading the updated Satnav, not personally convinced though is there a way of checking what it should be.

Thanks for the PM Jay.

Mine was a faulty sensor and I had my rear light replaced under recall warranty. I also had the satnav update and got an extra character on my postcode search but it's still pants.

There is a later version but they were not aloud to update it on my car so it appears Maserati are aware of the issue but not authorising it's remiss via the new firmware so god knows what they are trying to prove, maybe they think people will buy a new car for full postcode search!

Used my nav twice in the seven or so months I have had the car. Would still have bought it without any nav.

I know what you mean, but it is annoying.

I have found out the way to get it to work effectively though.

Basically you look up long and lat coordinates on google maps on your smart phone. Ridiculous when you think about it but it does work.

Also, speaking to Paul at DL's he has told me that upon loading new nav discs in, you must completely power down the nav unit and back on again between each disk. It's to do with the rate the nav unit can transfer data.

Had a great weekend driving over the Brecon Beacons in the car and ended sleeping in it on Thursday night as my mother forgot we were coming down and went to bed and double looked the front door and is as deaf as a post so could not hear me knocking for about an hour then tried ringing for another hour. Managed to stick it until 4:30am until it got to -3 before I decided to track down a 24 hr Macdonalds for some breky and a cuppa.

Here are the latest latest niggles, if stereo is playing it switches the Satnav voice really low so that you can't hear it, the music just cuts out even though you go back through the process of increasing the voice level. The onboard computer system kept rebooting and the route the Satnav was trying to take me on a was going miles out of its way and arrival time was 2 hours different on way back to London. Even my girlfriend noticed it was going the wrong way and that tells you something!!

What a total pants system, lucky I know its an Italian beauty and can wind the window down and listen to the engine instead.

Sounds like a bit of a nightmare night but nothing a Sausage 'n' egg McMuffin won't remedy.

Not had my Nav unit reboot before, did you have the firmware upgraded, probably the wrong one and that is what is causing your issues.

If you have an iPhone buy the TomTom app, it's brilliant, ok it's a bit pricey at £80, but worth every penny in my book.

Sleeping in the car - great smell of leather

Don't use the nav and you will not be disappointed. I presume that you already knew where your mother lives and London is the big place 150 miles south east of your mother's house.

Apparently, I have the latest firmware which resolved all of these issues so I was told!

I think I'll use my old Garmin Zumo next time I need a GPS or dig my map book out. I hope the Italian army aren't supplied with the same GPS software for their vehicles or perhaps that is what the problem is.

my grancabrio has a **** postcode sat nav thing which has actually got me lost. you put in the first few digits then it asks for the road name, often the road name isnt there and I end up giving up. will check whether this upgrade will work for me.

i wont be able to check for a day or so though as my battery is flat for the second time in 3 months - not impressed on a brand new £100k car.

Get the dealer to swap the battery.
As you are no doubt aware, when they've been fully discharged once they're never the same afterwards.
It should be under warranty and all they should do is run a test on it, discover it's not up to scratch and swap it.

does anyone know if I can run a solar power trickle charger by plugging it into the cigar lighter socket to stop this happening in the future?
