I would upload a video of mine - straight through rears, Larini sports centre centre & Larini de-cat race pipes - oh wait, it's knackered ....

Sounds great Phil, good work!

Ah ok so you do have the sporty setup Stuart, nice work!

I might just keep them then :)

Would love to hear yours on the de-cat race pipes too! Will wait until you get it back sorted.... hope it's not too long.

I had just fitted a pair of direct induction air filters also to replace the standard air filters & boxes but haven't been able to drive it or hear them yet! Cheers

I would keep it like that, turbo cars actually need no exhaust at all other than the manifold :p

Does anyone know if you can you get a free flowing air filter for a 4200 to make it breath a bit better ?

is there any noticable inrease in induction sound ? is it worth replacing ? My alfa had a K&n and it sounded lovely.

I suppose there is some but I didn't notice it. The big advantage is that they only cost about the same as a factory part but you can reuse them saving about £60 a service.

i might launch a K&N cone on it . iv still got the cleaner and oil set . that thing even made my 2.2 Brera sound nice . I take it the air box is under the right hand engine cover at the front ?

ill rip that mother out and get my cable ties on the case! ;P

No mate, it's in front of the nearside wheel behind the arch liner. It's a bit of a pig to get at and the screws holding the airbox together are likely to be seized as the dealers tend to avoid changing them. As mentioned, Newton is working on an alternative to the cr4ppy standard system which will, hopefully, give better airflow and a better noise.

This is the off the shelf kit that is available for the 3200. As mentioned, it is fitted to mine but I have yet to drive or hear it

It looks like it will be breathing lots of hot air from around the engine. Not so much of a problem with the turbo motor as it has intercoolers but it's not ideal as it will reduce the mass airflow into the turbos.

Yes, it's not ideal but there is a distinct lack of space so I'll report back with my findings when she's back on the road

Is yours the QPIV Evo then as I believe this was the same engine. Yours still has the centre silencer whereas mine doesn't. Short of removing the precats too I can't do much more to release the V8 in her!

Yep QP IV Evo, big centre silencer and now nothing but open pipes from there back. I have a video somewhere I will dig it out

I am not sure I could live with that as it looks a little Max Power.

I want to change all the intake and coolant hoses but I draw the line at those after market blue ones!

It's made by Green Air Filters and they only make their products in that colour & they're the only company making an indication kit and even K&N no longer make a replacement air filter to go in the boxes so it's that or standard!

with a setup like that induction temperatures are going to be poor. I always like to be part of a solution rather than underline a problem but air filters in the engine bay without a cold air feed is likely to reduce performance......

Perhaps a couple of airflow 'directors', or large bore pipes, where the old air boxes used to be might be an idea. At least it would push cold air towards the filters.
