The Westphalian Peace doctrine has had it’s day, people mainly align align social or economic lines now. First it was monarchs, then nationality, now this.

If you consider yourself British, then English too maybe? Northern or Southern, Lancastrian or (spit) Yorkist. Scouse or Manc, City or United, Stretford End or Scoreboard End? You can go on, and it becomes ever more divisive. Nationhood is lost, it’s had it’s place in the sun, time to move on. There are better concepts of belonging to cling onto!
Wanderer now look at what you’ve gone and made me do, by going to look this up.......:lol2::lol:. This resonates and you make a compelling point.. So can’t we go a step further and claim to be global citizens without being tagged or labelled as “citizens of nowhere”? Tribalism eh....I can’t seem to get my head around it. Or as the great Jack Nicholson once memed “why can’t we all just get along” LOL.

Sounds like socialism to me... as Lenin said: smash the state

As the same people run the Brexit Party as what ran UKIP before. Won't it morph into the same thing?

According to Farage the other day, Brexit Party will contest the next General Election and win seats!
I'm sure he said the same about UKIP.
Well it would appear that I was prohibited from accessing the site yesterday....probably “remainer” hackers based in Brussels to blame so you all missed out on my wisdom. Here’s some thoughts.

Been watching Sky......remainer pundits blaming Brexit for the collapse of British Steel.
Nearly broke my ribs laughing.
Apparantly China has produced more steel in 2 years than British Steel has in 149!!!!!
Yup that’ll be Brexit then......clearly it’s a viable business.

Geoff, still arguing against, lies, damned lies and Brexit. Do you honestly think everyone votes on facts? How about an emotional vote? How about we detest the Eu, it’s phoney democracy, it bailed out bankrupt economy, it’s spreading tentacles and outrage against all that oppose its views? It’s elites wish for more and more......while the people get less and less.

Watched May try to push her deal for a 4th time in Parliament yesterday. Virtually everyone walked out.
Ledson has resigned so that’s around 50 now.
Enough is enough....it’s not even funny anymore.
It is extraordinary that she cannot comprehend the damage she is doing to the country, our democracy is in tatters and her party- now on 7%. BPon 35!!
Pity she hadn’t shown such resilience and determination during the Withdrawal negotiations.

Cmon Nige, sock it to them tomorrow and put her to the sword.

Finally, enjoyed reading MarkMas posts- some very good points.

I will be making an important SMDRP announcement in the next day or so. Stay tuned.

I think we judge others by our own standards.

My mother in law wants to Brexit because off prostitutes coming from eastern Europe. (No idea where she heard this or why she cares so much about this point).
My mother thinks poles and Romanians are stabbing people all over Bristol.

One is a nurse. The other I like to think has some intelligence somewhere. But both have bought so weird as being peddled from somewhere.

Your Mother in law should be applauded for wishing to leave however it is important for me to try to educate her on the important role prostitutes make to the British economy.

Can you please pass the following Eu rule on to her on my behalf.

A compromise would be to only allow "Highly skilled Prostitutes" to enter the Uk post Brexit - given that the economy will apparantly tank (like it did after the referendum :lol2: ) when we leave. Indeed , it could be argued that we should invite a couple of hundred thousand BJ specialists to our shores in order to shore up GDP (Gross Domestic Prostitution) and prove once and for all that "project fear" was exactly that.

"Project F*ck" will begin immediately and will be added to the SMDRP manifesto previously outlined here https://www.sportsmaserati.com/index.php?threads/brexit-deal.27598/post-688636

I will undertake to produce some "Blow for Britain" posters to advertise the roles available. Applicants will be required to prove their skill level - receiving end volunteers (priority given to SMDRP members) will have the finally decision on appointments.

We disagree on Brexit. But I'm 100pc with you in this. In fact I'd prefer someone just to take account one way or another now.
For those that haven't watched this go to 4 minutes and watch for 40secs.
Europes first meeting with May over 2 years ago. shows her total incompetence. They saw through her straight away!

That is also a very valid argument. However, if you would be so kind as to pick a few large porkies told by the remain campaign I will re-assess.
How about the economy would tank if leave won at the referendum.........does it get any bigger than that?

Well that didn’t take long. Our first “Blow for Britain” application has been received!

The following came in, clearly demonstrating “her technique”. Fallen on hard times according to her email......expecting to lose her job shortly.

Volunteers please........and to be fair and show there is no animosity from SMDRP members we’ll give SMUPPITS first dibs.

Just going to put this here.

EU WTO Steel tariffs - 25%

Current EU Steel tariffs - 0%

WTO rules mean that tariffs have to be applied to all countries without exceptions. EU cannot reduce tariff for UK Steel without doing so for US and Chinese too.

What company would sign a deal that has the potential for a 25% increase in cost of materials overnight when there are alternatives that may be more expensive but don’t carry that risk?

Farage et al will have people believing this is the fault of the EU though. We are doing this to ourselves.

British steel has taken 149 years to produce the same amount of steel China has in 2.
Do you think it’s a viable business? It’s been totally superseded by a cheaper more efficient producer....but let’s blame Brexit anyway.

Let’s not forget in terms of getting bigger; oh yes let’s get the US President over to say Brexit would put the UK at the back of the cue to any US/UK trade deal. You could see how uncomfortable Obama was even saying it!!!

The economy didn’t tank because the Bank of England put specific measures in place to prevent its own predictions. The day after the referendum it was Mark Carney who said we would be ok because he’d put measures in place to prevent and safeguard our economy. And what did our bovine Brexiteers like Boris, Mogg and others in the ERG do...they give him a load of flak claiming he can’t be trusted. I’d say he’s more patriotic than the load of them combined. Then let’s Not forget Farage getting Donnie Trump to tell us how great and wonderful Brexit is. :D:lol2::lol::lol2: Brexit now is simply an exercise in managing the lied to, that’s all...:D

Just out of interest where do you guys see the federal EU project in 10 years time ? exactly the same as now or even more centralised control moving to the EU ?
where is the end point of "More Europe" ? what will it look like ?
Good question. I see UK left, prospects on the up with other EU countries looking on considering out or gone, Holland and Spain. Couldn’t call Germany but stranger things have happened.

You would think France would remain till the bitter end but seeing the Jaunes stamping their feet anything is possible

That is also a very valid argument. However, if you would be so kind as to pick a few large porkies told by the remain campaign I will re-assess.

However, I believe everything that the remain campaign came out with, which was called Fear' by the Brexiters should actually have been called 'Project Fact'.

Well, yes, as I say, if you are a Remainer, you will tend to believe that all Remainer statements are 'Facts', because you are pre-disposed to believe them.

I will pick one 'Project Fact/Fear' example:
The HM Government Treasury (basically part of the Remain campaign), published a 'Fact' that if we left the EU, the UK's GDP would decline by £4,300 per family.
Firstly, this was clearly political spin as nobody has ever expressed GDP in terms of a 'per family' figure before, which is statistical nonsense.
Secondly, while it was billed as an 'expert economic forecast', it was:
(a) just a forecast, based on models, estimates and predictions of the future, but was very much presented as a 'fact';
(b) prepared by economists (and Treasury ones at that) who have a terrible track record in, well, economic forecasting;
(c) prepared (under the direction of George Osborne) using every possible 'worst case' assumption of the outcome of implementing Brexit.
Thirdly, while this headline figure of £4,300 'per family' sounded quite startling, the (unsubstantiated and meaningless) prediction actually represented a tiny percentage of the UK's overall GDP.
Fourthly, I met many Remainers who were not only convinced that this (unsubstantiated and meaningless) prediction actually was a 'fact', but were very confused about what it meant. One normally rational person I know said he voted Remain "because the Government had said that they were going to put up my taxes by £4,300 a year if the referendum voted Leave".

The Bank of England: "If you vote Brexit, the economy will definitely tank disastrously. Whatever you do, don't vote Brexit or this will definitely happen."
Also the Bank of England: "You voted Brexit, but its ok, because we "put specific measures in place" so that the economy will not tank disastrously after all."
Remainers: "Mark Carney is a expert economist: he predicted a catastrophe, and then averted a catastrophe. Brilliant" :)
Brexitieers: "Mark Carney is an 'expert economist'; he predicted a catastrophe, was plain wrong, and is now trying to dig his way out of it."

Well, lets get things balanced. The cost of Brexit thus far has been put at £66 billion. With 60 million (or thereabouts in the country) I'd say Brexit has cost £1,100 each so far.
Multiply by 2.4 (average UK family size) You're looking at £2,640.
And that is without the direct costs like food and fuel going up. I'd be willing to guess that the £4,300 isn't too far away.
