About 10 seconds after I switch the ignition on 5 regular beeps come from the rear of the car - am I correct in assuming this is confirming F1 pump operating correctly or is there a darker side to the beeps!?

Assume these are different beeps to the very loud ones issed by the car when you try to lock it and something is not fully closed, or the battery has been reset? (can't fully rememeber the scenarios after a year out of ownership)

Loz is the man to speak to about F1 pump issues.

Normally...a high pitched whine off pump....for 5-10 secs....before starting

After starting I get one loud BEEP.........only other noises when c/locking car and door/boot not closed properly...thats about it....apart from handbrake on!

5 beeps is when your tracker has not picked up your fob. 3 is when it has. 3 good, 5 bad!

Ah, that's why it sounds like it's coming from behind me! I'm not going to pay for the tracker, at least it will remind me to disconnect it and not leave it to drain the battery. Is it fairly simple to access from the boot?

Don't assume it's always in the same place, 'cos it ain't, as I discovered just today.

As jmd said it's the tracker if the beeps are at the same volume five beeps you haven't got your fob for the tracker in the car or the batteries are flat.

Guys; 5 beeps on turning the ignition off indicates the memory seats are in need of re-setting.

I have not reset mine since doing a full reset before Holland last week so I'm getting the 5 bleeps, not a big one my drivers seat often drops it's memory or fails to move back after letting someone in the back.

Hand book has the resetting procedures but you can set the reverse position of the mirrors with the memory setting too don't forget!

I also get 5 beeps when I switch off the ignition. I've reset the seats, disconnected/reconnected the seat connectors, reset the seats again, and I still get the 5 beeps. My car is supposed to have a Trafficmaster TM400 Trackstar fitted which I do not subscribe to. I have tried to contact the installers of this system in order to have it removed, but they ignore me. If possible, I'd like to know where the unit might be installed in order to disconnect it myself, and thus eliminate the tracker as a possible cause of the beeps.

Here's the link to an earlier NavTrak thread with location information, I heartily recommend taking the **** thing out if only for the weight saving, they have a gel battery on them that when defunct still tries to charge, is not subscribed to the service they go into panic mode trying to dial in but the SIM is inactive so it never gets a response...

I think we have located at least three seperate locations for them now (boot, shelf & dash)!
