To be honest, Robert, so do I :) Little things niggle more than they should. I have similar with my aircon and AA 114 error. Pretty sure it's the re-circ flaps getting stuck, but I'd love to fix it!

My seat module is probably faulty as well, I can't get the memory to work and the automatic slide forward on the tilt doesn't (often), even though the reset process works fine.

I should take some time to try and analyse it properly.

C,
Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the plugs under the seat, sometimes helps..?? The recirc' flaps, have you checked for leaves in the entry area of the intakes, bits of broken mashed up leaves can sometimes work there way in and start to jam the flaps up..??
Cheers

Thanks, Rob. Not tried cleaning the contacts. Will put in on the list. The entry (as far as I know) is clear. I'm assuming this is where you go in for the pollen filter change? Are the re-circ flaps in there? If so I'll get a willing assistant to try and activate them and see if I can lube them or similar.

If the weather ever lets me outside again :(

Brand new pilot ECU on its way from David Askew, sealed in its packaging, £250, retail, £530 plus VAT.

What would we do without these people, make sure you continue to support them or they will disappear.

Matt

Adding the seat ECU to the list of "nice to have" fixes for mine too.

Hey Robert

Nice car collection - how are you finding the 550 discs on the AC?
MIne make the previous genuine items seem like chaep pattern parts. Brake feel on the 550 is positive, strong and fade free AND the dust/vent hole stay clear with zero poking. 550 disks look so much nicer too, once some paint was applied to the hub section.
The standard items were gummed up after less than a week driving.

Hi Rob,
The 550 discs are great and with the Pagid pads braking is spot on. I made the mistake of not having the centres painted before fitting the discs, that's a job for later this year. OE discs don't colour up the same as the Brembo for some reason, must have a coating on the OE discs. I have the OE discs on the 4200 and they still look good, although Autoshield did coat them with something, working well so far with no gumming up. That could be something to do with the type of pads you are using..?? Just in the process of building another garage, just in case another motor tempts me at some point, I must be nuts..!!
Cheers

:::FIXED:::

Got the new ECU from David Askew, but before I removed it from the package I ran a full continuity test and found out that my number 2 button on my memory seat button was shorted meaning is was making a constant circuit.

If you think about it, this is why the seat was sliding forward when I unlocked and opened the door....it was receiving a signal to go to memory 2.

Dave Askew has kindly agreed to take the ECU back as it is unopened and a good used switch is on its way to me tomorrow.

Total cost for used switch £10

New ECU could have cost: £530 plus VAT so am very happy it turned out not to be the seat ECU.

David Askew has one for £250 if anyone might need one.
