I also get 5 beeps when I switch off the ignition. I've reset the seats, disconnected/reconnected the seat connectors, reset the seats again, and I still get the 5 beeps. My car is supposed to have a Trafficmaster TM400 Trackstar fitted which I do not subscribe to. I have tried to contact the installers of this system in order to have it removed, but they ignore me. If possible, I'd like to know where the unit might be installed in order to disconnect it myself, and thus eliminate the tracker as a possible cause of the beeps.

I found that the 5 beeps (not good) when switched off is that the car is in neutal, leave it in 1st and you only get 3 beeps (good)

the beeps when starting I think are to do with tracker 3 beeps found, 5 beeps not found

Haven't we all dis-engaged our tracking/battery draining devices....by now?!

still have mine enabled, would be interested to here about this - are they a problem ?

Whilst we are on the subject of beeps the long one when you get in the mornings is the ICE warning, sub 2 degrees C, it always made me jump.

When I got my GS, the Tracker was disabled, got no beebs on start up. I then disconnected it due to battery drain (which it was) and still no beeps.

Thinking about it, I dont remember the car beeping on switch off being in neutral or gear, but I could have just been ignoring it.

Ah-ha! I just read in the manual that it is adviseable to leave the car with 1st gear selected. So now I get 5 beeps when I switch off and in neutral, and no beeps when left with 1st gear selected. For me, this is sorted. many thanks to all. Moz.

The guy who did the Road Runner noise was on TV the other day, he was upset as he only got paid half the fee he deserved. He recorded 'beep'... then they just used his recording twice.

Tell him to get out of my car!

I have now got 5 beeps when I switch off and a seat that wont set the memory positions.

It says in the handbook that it is a seat module malfunction.

I have disconnected the seat connectors and left for half an hour, then reconnected, no joy.

Mike said he could not interrogate the seat ECU so its definatley stuffed.

Advice please as I need a new module and assuming its big bucks?

Ok the seat has been removed and stripped and I now need the seat control unit anyone got an old seat?

I have emailed David Askew but its a tricky item to get hold of as you have to strip it from the seat.

Matt, surely this has to be one of those items which has a viable and cheaper alternative? I can't imagine Maserati would design and build their own?

Maf, the seat switched have the Audi rings on them and the control unit is Italian built, about the size if a VHS cassette and costs £600 new and has about the same technology in it as a blender!

Yeah think the 156 did have memory seats, I would of though some of the other fiats had them aswell so might get lucky and find they all use the same part. The 159 does have memory seats aswell couple the TI models there is a breaker on eBay ATM who's got one or two in.

David Askew to the rescue, has a new unit for £250, which is less than half the list price.

I think I will go for that as £250 is a small bill for a Maserati and its a real annoyance having to reset the seat everytime I use the car.

I see Matt's point, clear the annoyance and enjoy the drive for £250, great idea..!! If it's fitted I like it to work..!!
