Great work boys....keep it up. As Chris says there will be peaks and troughs but look at the bigger/longer more sustained picture.

How long did it take you from start to finish Chris to lose the bulk of your weight a few years back?

Not weighed in yet, that is tomorrow, but like some of the others I certainly feel better overall after a month on no alcohol. I don't plan to remain free for all of Feb but I do plan to not to revert to the olds ways of drinking too much especially at weekends, more of a case if there is a special reason then fine but not just out of habit.

Weight loss has been slow but steady and I expect to by 7lbs or just over 3kgs lighter than the start of the month. Also i have noticed that the exercise has certainly toned up my body, flabby bits seem less flabby and there are signs of definition across my stomach and chest so that will continue as well.

All in all happy with progress, so more of the same planned for February

Been trying to find good but interesting/tasty breakfast options and tried these. They are not cheap but much cheaper than many spend on convenience breakfast rubbish. Not sure how healthy it is though as tastes too good to be good! Any ideas?

Just my opinion
Porridge is good. Large flakes are good Fibre and Salt are good
Sugars not so good

Indeed. Why not just make your own? Porridge seems to be a major money spinner for some industries. There seems to be this perception that it's hard to make. It's really not. Get a half cup measure. 1 measure of oats. 3 measures of milk or milk / water. Stick it in a bowl overnight if you want your morning to be really simple. Then microwave for 4 minutes.
Add cinnamon (great, stabilises blood sugar) or fresh fruit.
Dried if you must but David is right about the sugars. Sugar is sugar. Refined or otherwise.
So easy it's mad.
And
Rude health porridge: £3.59 500g
Porridge: 85p 500g.......

Sunday morning stats...
2nd January:
Age: 36
Height: 6'4"
Belly flopped: 51"
Waist: 44"
Weight: 19st 8lbs

27th January
Age: 36
Height: 6'4"
Belly flopped: 47"
Waist: just over 43"
Weight: 19st

27th January:
Age: 36 - no change
Height: 6'4" - no change
Belly flopped: 46.5" - 0.5" this week, 4 1/2" so far.
Waist: just under 43" so back down that half inch from last week and over an inch so far.
Weight: 18st 13lbs - just over 9lbs so far. This is good and already met my short-term goal ready for skiing.

Not a huge change this week, but I knew it would be harder week for various reasons. Therefor I'm still quite hapPea about it, and overall it's really good. People are now all noticing the difference when they see me.

Well done Andy; even with the temptation of Guinness brewed locally!

Managed to resist that temptation so far this year but one or two my slip down over the next few weeks. They certainly would have done if I had been in Dublin last night.

Excellent work all round.

No weigh in for me this morning as I’m sat in Epsom A&E with a suspected torn rotator cuff!

Went for a long hilly walk yesterday with the dogs, fell down a steep slippy slope, and grabbed a tree branch and roots to try and stop myself. Cue short sharp pain... then scrambled up the hill and finished the walk.

Roll forward 12 hrs and can’t lift my arm out to the front or to the side....

So effing annoying!

Thanks all,

I have a torn rotator cuff and a possible shoulder fracture!

Have been advised to keep my arm in a sling for the next 24-48 hrs and to take strong painkillers & anti-inflammatories. They then want to re X-Ray me to see if I have a small piece of bone floating around in my shoulder...

This was me too when I fell off my bike 1 year ago.
They (A&E) missed the fracture in my shoulder first time around
All is well now but it did take a while so be careful mate
