I dropped the Lambo at Embelm yesterday as there's a bearing whine, waiting for the diagnosis at the mo.
Hoping it's just a wheel bearing and nothing major in the gearbox

Also Hoping that it's mended in time!!

Fingers crossed here Dan. I got my wheels repainted last week now the only thing externally letting the car down is my rusty nuts. Hope my new nuts turn up before next week!

When you say bearing wine, is it revs related or speed related or nether?

It's road speed related, not gear specific.

So I was thinking wheel bearing or some kind of final drive bearing.

Hi All,

Saw the posts regarding arriving at La Butte,

We are on the overnight ferry arriving in Caen bright and early on Wednesday, so should be at the house mid-morning onwards, can't wait!!!!

The car is good and a couple of Classic Le Mans decals and all set!!!!!

Good man Paul, what happened to you at the SM doo a few weeks ago, did you get lost?

Yep, just back from seeing Miles and taking him out to point out the noise.
Looks like we're going to try an oil change in the gearbox first and see what happens as it's not a wheel bearing.
He doesn't seem overly concerned so far, so fingers crossed...

When you experience the gear changes Loz, you will wonder how the gearbox is still attached to the engine. They go in with a bang, that's for sure. Fairly brutal.

The query with my car re-occurred, so off it went to Emblem and a new starter motor later and all is well again!! The thing had been replaced no more than 8 months previously, so will look into the reasons why?

But its all good now looking forward to next week!!!

Hope it's nothing serious Dan, and will be ready in time!
Florence is in the body shop at the moment, having minor surgery on her near side sill...am scheduled to collect her on Saturday, hope she is ready

That sounds like you have the old water manifold leak dripping on the starter. I would check that otherwise you will be replacing it again come the spring!
