Wine
Should be red
If red not available drink white
Rose acceptable if it’s summer
Germans can’t make wine - but by Christ you can guzzle it like water so ideal as a pre session livener

I no nothing about wine, couldn’t spot a good bottle if I tried, so I stick to Merlot at less than £8 a bottle, had some good ones and others that are just wine.

if you like it it’s good if a you don’t - drink it anyway and don’t buy it again, if you can remember what it was.

Stops it evaporating in the heat we get down here.....Basically I add lager cordial to a huge amount of ice and through the slow release of water it becomes a health drink-Rehydration ticked.
Gadgets?
they are essential wine pouring devices that everyone pretending to know about wine must acquire. I’ve several hundred.

We have been renovating a 1980s house over the past 2 years and I recently completed the wine room. We split the utility room in half and had a local company build a ’cold room’ using insulated aluminium panels and installing a temperature control system, keeping a constant 12.5 degrees C. I then clad the inside with oak panels and ordered racking to size and built a plinth and further shelving for large formats from oak panelled plywood. It stores the equivalent of 1000 standard 75 cl bottles.

I had a dream about that rooom last night.
Well, it wasn’t just that room but it was involved and it is awesome! Very envious.
I reckon you and JonW should setup a little sideline of wine storage and recommendations for the masses on here.

The problem with recommendations is they are so personal. I know some of the wines that are being raved about and frankly I'd rather have ribena but that's me.
My oldest pals and I have developed very different tastes in wine. Mostly because I had a client whose USP was French wine, they went down the 'decent New World from the supermarket' route. My wines are not fruity enough for them. Theirs are like squash to me <shrug>

We all agree on whisky though :lol2:
