Phils 4200 is just over the 100k mark and I am aware of several 3200's well over the 100k mark, think the highest I can remember was circa 120k

From what I have seen only over my past 6 or so years with the Maserati brand, I have seen a few 3200's suffer from Crankshaft Endfloat wear, all manuals, all stripped down and rebuilt. One cambelt failure on a 3200 by a chap in Ireland, it was down to one of the pulleys metal casting shearing off and hence the belt looses tention.

I know of 2 4200's with engine failure, one was aqua lock so self inflicted and not down to the car and one with oil pump diminishing and swarfs of metal in the engine system, which was rebuilt and still runs fine today.

Overall, not too bad.

Oh, and one of the 3200's with crankshaft endfloat wear was my own!

I would have thought that the impact of age on electronics is far more of an issue these days than the impact of mileage on mechanicals (as long as a car is well maintained)?

Too true BB. Mike Roberts rightly said that any iffy 3200 engines, endfloat etc, would have come to light by now, so what is left should all be fine, you have to sort of agree.

Tired wiring will come into play in later life, poor earths and failing component.

This is good news as I have a 3k limited miles on my insurance policy which means I still have a lifetime of motoring left in my 3200!

I wonder how many Ferraris/Lambos are out there with 100K miles......do you ever see them...what do they sell for.......suppose no matter what the figures, if well looked after, full batch of invoices, drives well...and passes an indie inspection, then why not!!!!!

Ok there are four that is 70k+ and guess what? Two are MR2 replicas and the other two are 456s. It seems that only 456 owners use their car oh and Toyota drivers
