In the end I feel we will settle on a happy medium.
I’m not sure how jovial he is but I hear Uri Geller can control spoons.

I’m a member of several car Marque forums, and all seem to end up with the political and rant type threads.
Don't get started with the religion now!It is a very broad church ...
... and yet anywhere that encourages a continuation of political discourse must by implication seek only to exacerbate the ubiquity of such debate, deepening your dismay that the media controls politics.I think this is more to do with the times we're living in at the moment.
Politics is all encompassing at the moment and it would also seem that the whole world is angry about something or other as well.
You can't get away from it, it's now part of life.
Would banning ranting and politics help the forum? I'm not so sure (not my decision anyway) but it's affecting everyone right now whether you like it or not.
The media pretty much control politics, and this forum is part of that media, albeit social.

Oh, such a tangled web we have woven! Cometh the spider, cometh the reckoning!
That wasn't one of the choices, but I could ask Zep to add it...Damned if you do.....

Do make sure you fix your sprocket though. You don't want your lever falling off.I’m a member of several car Marque forums, and all seem to end up with the political and rant type threads.
However, I find that the vitriol and personal abuse are far worse on most of them than on here, where in the main the content is friendly and light hearted.
The AMOC has gone into meltdown over a similar matter with the result being a stitched up AGM with a new management committee of old guard members who have a mistrust and dislike of social media wanting to overmoderate the forum and shut out such discussion.
As a result, many of the main contributors have set up an alternate forum outside the club, and the club one has become a far less interesting place with an absence of humour and debate. If I just want to know how to fix my sprocket on my lever it’s fine, but I can look that up on Google or YouTube.
Aim high. MC20 at least.Hmmmm…what do I want from Sportsmaserati ? ….Let me think for moment……..A Stradale please.
Aim high. MC20 at least.
If you want to attract more people to the forum, then offer something that can't be got from outside the forum. I like all the conversations, but would I want to travel to one location in the UK only for my car to have works done? probably not. Do I feel it is necessary to travel that far for a current rates for works on my car? probably not. Would I look on here to buy a car that's been looked after from an enthusiast? probably yes. Are the conversations on here fun and interesting. Yes.
