I think i am ageing before my time, a guy at Tae Kwon Do turned up to training last night in a V70 R, i made a joke saying "are you coming to training or are you moving house" (it is the size of a small bungalow) he said "yeah yeah very funny i will take you for a spin later" i said "ok then". Here is a pic of the car in question.
Little did i know it was tuned slightly to 300 bhp (250 when standard) and it went like sh!t off a shovel, a real sleeper, bearing in mind he is 19 and it is his daily drive i was surprised he bought it. It got me thinking, for 3.5k it is a heck of a lot of car for the money, great build quality, very comfy inside and with a boot that size, you can do anything and i mean anything in that boot
So it got me thinking, we all laugh at Volvo's saying they are all old codgers cars etc..... but to be honest, this car is probably better than the equivalent BMW 5 series for the same price bracket. I have certainly changed my mind about Volvo's. In fact, i even looked at V70 R's in the classifieds earlier, now where is my pipe and slippers
