I would always go over the top on tyre rating, either "Y", or (Y), up to 186mph and over 186mph, I feel much safer this way when pushing a tyre hard, a blow out at 170mph using such as a "W" rating would be curtains for some.

A blow out at that speed would almost certainly be fatal im afraid to say , nearly a ton and a half careering and no real steerage phew beggars belief , dont wanto to even go there or i'll never get the old girl above 30mph again

regards loz

Agree Frank, the lead foot brigade would definitely suffer and yes Loz, it does kind off lift the hairs on the back of your neck thinking about it. So, the Y or (Y) is the way to go for definite for me.

That is something i did not realize yet.
The 452 was Y rated?
Strange thing the FK453 would not meet up withe the older ones then.

You have to be careful with tyres mate, there the only thing keeping you on the road and at high speed they have to be right.

Is anybody running on the Pirelli PZero Corse, Mine has the Rosso on currently and although they seem OK, I wonder if anybody has the Corse experience. I have the Assymetrico's on my XJR and they are brilliant.

Missed this earlier post

Yes have the P0 Corsas on my car. These are "classified" as a semi track tyre and ideal for that type of driving. IMO over kill for regular driving

Having said that they provide exceptional grip in the dry but you need to be careful in the damp/wet - not good IMO

Given the typical (sunny ha,ha) weather experienced over there, would probably seek someting else

You could be right Adam. I am surprised they are not that good in the wet, the Assymetrico's are really good wet, or dry, I imagined the Corsa's would be at least as good, for the money they should be. We have had such dry weather in recent years, we are now sruggling for water would you believe, strange old world.

I LOVE mine! Loz uses them and recommended. Lots of feel, progressive, stiff walls, but still quiet and so far seem to be wearing well, or not well, which ever way you look at it! All good anyway.....

.......and "GIUGIARO design" on each wall to match your side badge. Cool looking tread too

I'll check them out when I need a change, how do they compare on price?

I have Vredstein on my 3200 and they have been very good. I am just about to put 2 new ones on the front.
Used them previously on my 944 Turbo and they were excellent.

Having reviewed the advice on here and hunted various tyre suppliers on the internet, I have just bought some Vredesteins (Ultrac Sessanta) for my front wheels (4200). I managed to source two, fitted, balanced etc, at my local tyre place for £272 all in. I was quite pleased with that - could have got them perhaps £10-£20 cheaper by sourcing them myself (and being in when delivered etc), then getting my local place to fit them, but this seems easier and happy to give them a bigger piece of the pie. Cheapest I found online, today, was £115 plus delivery from Lovetyres.com.

We shall see how they compare tothe Contis, but price-wise they are a chunk cheaper. Thanks for the advice.

Still, the new Falkens found theire way on the GS rims.

As you can see, the rims are much more protected as with the 265-30-19 ones.
Rollcircumstance is much closer to the front ones too as with the original 265's.

Will let you guys know how they perform.

Well done Boom, can you let us know if the noise had dropped, the 452's were very noisy.

I like what you have done to get the anti curb protection better.
