I think Michelin’s on the GranTurismo are excellent but I would have naturally gone Goodyear Eagle F1’s but they don’t do the sizes.
On a 3200/4200 I’ll start with the tyres I wouldn’t use, Pirelli and Vredsteins. The reason for this is not just the compound it’s more to do with the stiffened sidewalls.
I see it time and time again, hit a pothole and the stiffened sidewall splits the shoulder of the tyre and that’s you knackered. Most annoying when your abroad as our European cousins seem incapable of getting tyres next day, more like next week!
I had Falkens on my GS which on road were superb but track rubbish. I then found Goodyear Eagle F1’s and that is the tyre of choice for that chassis.
They are not even that expensive.
I suspect Michelin’s will be equally as good but personally have never tried them so cant comment on the 3200/4200 chassis.
Whilst we are on the subject of Pirelli, I’m going to stick the boot in I’m afraid.
They split, they are lethal under 10 degrees, they are expensive and to top it off they come with 7mm of tread new where everyone else comes with 8mm!
I just don’t get it?
