They say it takes 6 weeks to make a show...................how??!!

P
Each episode has to be planned and executed with cars brought in, track shots taken, off site excursions organised and so on, so a fair amount of work is involved just for UK locations. The studio sequence with the audience at Dunsfold takes just a few hours and it is a pretty slick operation.

I thought I was going a bit nuts, after watching the episode again tonight and there being no Maseratis. Then I came back on here and realised this was a necro! :as003:

Given the obvious routine type format.....none of the above is truly difficult or time consuming to do....they are so well reheasred in all aspects of making this show, they could do it with their eyes closed (wish I'd kept mine closed for parts!).......slickness is not required.

The word I'd use is haggard........................too much fine living off us good license payers!!!!!

P

I think you'll find that Top Gear makes much more money being sold all over the world than it gets from the licence fee.
An even if he got paid £2m by the BBC that works out at about 15p per household from the tv license. I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.

I’ve only attended one show so can’t claim to be an expert on the subject. However, to my layman’s eyes the TG studio team, especially the floor manager and JC, came across as very professional and they are clearly highly experienced operators in all respects. That is what makes them slick and that is what makes the TG genre so profitable. JC may not be everyone’s cup of tea and he may appear flippant, but he is very good at what he does.

As any good manager knows, all jobs look easy when you don’t have to do them.
