And Matt was worried about losing 5k; the GTS is driven by people who can't drive and flops around like a duvet on a hot night. I'll give you 20k for it Matt!! Overall, I reckon if it wasn't for the harnesses and gearbox it would have walked the comparison.

Came over quite well I thought. Shame they didn't make more of the noise.
Star in a car bit is dull, hence being on here...

I dont understand why clarkson hates the car's looks!!

Its absolutely georgeous. Black GTS on a sunny day is stunning! ( of course im a wee bit biased!)

Well to be honest we have said the GT is large, and given its based on the QP you can see why.

Trying to make it handle like a racing car is a real feet...well done, but its at GT and if they want a smaller, faster, coupe then they can always make the 4200/GS again!

Shame he said it had a dual clutch gearbox.

Good time though!

He has never liked Masers.

The biggest objection he made was the seat belts. Ignoring the lap time the Maserati came out the better car.

Was there a Star in a reasonably priced car then??
I was far too busy looking at the gorgeous girl in the cricket jumper just behind the 'star'!!
I'm sure that she didn't go unnoticed.

Regards

yep its gone downhill over the last few series. The india special was a good example of where they have gone wrong. Too much focus on so called adventures, with fake scenarios, pre rehearsed gags etc etc

It was good when it seemed more spontaneous, natural, and the banter between the 3 presenters seemed more genuine.

Now they just keep re-rolling the same cr*p again and again, as they have decided that a winning formula needs no improvement or adjustment.

The AMG may have had a faster lap time but how could you drive it on the road with all that smoke and oversteer? Looks good on the show with a wide runway but you clip a kerb and you'll be upside down before you know it.

JC does have talk some BS, DCT clutch, either RACE or auto (for the shops). With 480bhp I'm sure you could still get to the shops in auto. I wonder if he had that problem I had back at that JCT event where I didn't realise pressing the AUTO button made it go into manual mode?

I noticed that girl too, then started to compare her with a similar looking girl over JC's right shoulder. The first girl won..

As for the comparison.
It goes to show that JC is the Merc is useless in a car, as he couldn't keep up with a car that , in proper hands, could go two seconds faster round the track. Anyway who drives in Auto? Not me!

SAAB story was good, made me wish I was an Architect...

I agree, the merc was a glorified smoke machine, 4 laps on rear tyres, who the heck wants to drive a rubber wasting thing with a bat wing on the boot with a back breaking suspension. Overall I think the Masser came out fast, refined and comfortable, just as we thought it would and it was close to the lap time of the F430. The girl was also very noticeable and should be asked on again, I think we all agree on that?
