Just seen the neighbour's splendid new driving licence, received this morning; she is 70 and was required to renew it. Looks great - there's a photo of a woman with black hair on it, aged about 24. I kid you not... She's quite happy, but I'm thinking the woman in her mid-20's is going to need therapy when she opens her post.

So now I have my tax disc renewal form come through, how do I tax the car, they have the documents!!

Arh but don't you have to enter the V5 document ref number to tax on line and as there have been sent away, could be a problem . This is the reason I always photocopy any important documents before posting them , found out the hard way to , not much help for you now I know but feel your pain.....

It isn't if you have to take the theory test and another driving test. It could take weeks and cost a packet. Once you get into a situation like this with a system like this, you will quickly realise that unbending stupidity is the order of the day and you are virtually powerless to influence the course of events. Best avoided at all costs. Good luck.
