Tie Rods and bushings

I had major front suspension work completed by Emblem on my 2006 QP last year. The issues first came to notice during a routine Hunter geometry alignment at a local tyre specialist. When loosening an adjusting bolt, an oil filled bush leaked onto the garage floor. Apparently a special Maserati tool is needed to exchange the old bushes for new. There was also play in the shock absorber rose joints but not the ball joints as advised in the MOT. In the end I opted for a future proofing comprehensive solution and replaced both upper and lower wishbones complete with bushes and uprights on both sides. Two kits were needed at a cost of £639.76 plus VAT each. Two shock absorber bushes were also replaced and these amounted to a total of £145.20 plus VAT.

Regards,

Paul

Hey guys, I think I might of mis-spoke. I have been selling the kits in waves and seems like I have to re-order a few parts to make the kits. I mean in a perfect world I would of had tons of stock but I'm a single guy, and I don't sell car parts. So please if you guys are interested please let me know. I want to order enough parts for everyone without getting too much and having it sit in my spare bedroom. Again I apologize for the inconvenience. I've been doing so much lately it must have slipped my mind.

Cheers mate. I would also urge forum members with slack in their rear ends to get one of Craig's kits; my rear ends now tighter than it's ever been. Fnaar, fnaar! ;)

Lol.............Benny I am really glad I could help in making your "rear-end tighter than it's ever been"! It's a humorous coincidence that Cat and I would have never thought possible.

Felice is looking at refurbishing wishbones for me. He has one, and I'll see if he's made any progress next week.
Craig Waterman has made some tie rods. Not sure if he has any left. Also can't recall how much. Craig's are well over engineered. It's possible to simply replace the rose joint at the end of the rod for a more standard solution (which is slightly cheaper).
Any local garage should be able to fit, but you'll probably need a tracking job whoever does it. In *theory* you shouldn't, but....

Note to all, Eurospares price for a rear lower wishbone is now £1,225 + VAT...Hope Chris' s pall can find an alternative soon.

Holy moly .....roll on the alternative, otherwise if both sides need replaced, near scrapping time for the oldest/least value 4200s!
