The sad demise of Urban Maser

Well this is it boys. It has been great whilst it lasted but I have some sad news. I don't think I will have the facility of using a computer from prison................On November 11th I am due to be sentenced for 58MPH IN A 50MPH ZONE.

I fully expect to get the the full force of the law.

Despite my best efforts to avoid this, I have had to change my plea to guilty.

I received the calibration certificate after ten zillion letters requesting it.

My solicitor was unhappy with it because whilst it was a vaid certificate, it did not show the location of the camera and nor did the serial number match any numbers on the paperwork of the summons.

We requested this information and were told that due to cut backs in personel it was unlikely I would be able to see this information until the day of the trial.

They have worn me down and I have decided to mitigate my losses by changing my plea now rather than incurring further costs.

The system won and I now expect them to take me away for a life sentence.

Parting is such sorrow

If it makes you feel any better I was caught on Sunday morning doing +100mph on the A27

*But the rozzer was a thoroughly nice chap, said that we're all human and there was nothing on the road, gave me 3 points and £60 fine.

Absolutely! I've been keeping it under 185 ever since...

I did/do consider myself very lucky, a rare thing to have such a human response to a speeding offence. Already had a toting up ban of 6mths appealed to 3mths 6 years ago, a right pain in the Aristotle that was! Don't plan on repeating it.

Any idea what your punishment will be yet?

Well what can I say Peter, or is that inmate 0115457, this is a gross miscarriage of justice! Is there to be a jury? Can we nobble them? Will the judge take a bung? (Oh, best not to mention bung, liquid soap at all times)

Seriously... Cut-backs,... information pertinent to your defense not available until trial?... So you change your plea (after being financially penalized and completely brow-beaten by their ineptitude) and then the judge reviews the details to hand and decides the documentation does not prove your guilt?... where does that leave you having changed your plea?

Really sorry that this has dragged on so long and this is the likely outcome. I think they were wrong when they said justice is blind. I think they meant blind incompetent.

On the day of the trial Peter , you are still entitled to change your plea back to not Guilty , if your solictor can extract the necessary before you enter court , it may be worth the punt , but to be honest i would accept the 3 months in Ford open prison and just tell eveyone your allergic to soap

good luck mate

Arh, Mr Urban, I will pop round with the file in a cake, I take it you wont be attending the SM Xmas doo, or maybe we can hold it at your prison, and pass you breadsticks through the bars.
