Yesterday's revelations were totally unexexpected , how can we trust the very heart of the police force , when corruption has been seen to go right to the very top , makes you feel you can never trust a policeman again, unless your in the same club that is , just another prime case of whats good for the goose , is not necessarily good for the gander, seems they have a different rule book ,

I will be well interested to find out what unravels today

It also seems to have taken its toll on Sean Hoare

It does amaze me that people are surprised that this is going on in public life as well as business, I am afraid it is Human nature to earn a bit of extra money by doing something that is immoral because they think nobody will find out. Obviously what the news of the world did by tapping phones was disgusting but bribery/ corruption / hospitality is still happening every day around the world.Business is based on people doing favours for each other it is just where you draw the line that makes it wrong or illegal.

Maybe some people in this country have only just realised this week that we are just as bad as everyone else whilst telling the world how to behave. How many people have taken cash payment and not told the taxman about it.

None of it surprises me, it merely reflective of the society we live in.....when people have the chance to do something illegal and have little chance of being caught....quite a big percentage will!

Panorama was good last night, (yes i did see it) and when they interviewed the journalist that started allegations against them years ago they sacked him, blaming it on alcohol & drugs bringing him down, i said to christina that im surprised they never "got rid" of him so there will be no story......30mins later on the news......hes been found dead......i know some will say cant assume but im a conspiracy theorist and i also know what a dark world it is so im not surprised if they did.....

What worries me is that so many of the Captains of society are so fecking dim as to get involved in all this corruption/hospitality thing. Don't these people realise that the press/media are after their scalps in order to further their own careers. More a case of; 'absolute stupidity corrupts absolutely". With people like this at the helm, this country is f*cked

Never surprised about corruption Andrew, in fact im probably in your catergory of doing work for Cash and not declaring , well i may have done in the past:whistle: just surprised how candid the chief of Police and his no2 have been employing buddies who were ex NOTW employee's and their daughter , i mean how naive is that ,

Perhaps they thought that made them untouchable, because their buddies would call off the attack dogs when required.

Having watched today's MP's questions it highlights and reminds us how a business leader becomes divorced from most of the day to day runnings of aspects of their business (I think NoTW is less than 1% by value). and i mean MOST.

Having been on the recieving end today of our Investors in People standard re=appraisal by an independent inspector, I cannot help feeing more "grilled" than the father/son Murdochs on BBC live. I truly think they had a walk in the park and am more disappointed in those entrusted to ask the questions. Pathetic in some moments. Embarassing in fact.

Rupert played the convincing role of an old man that none of us would ever feel intimidated by, whether politician or otherwise. james did well.Good acting all round I think.....

The share holders won't be as lily-livered. They've been disgruntled for some time, and now they smell blood they won't take any prisoners. Oh, how I'd like to sit on on that one! His days are numbered.

Marc, you get the feeling its just a well rehearsed charade by all concerned.

James did well enough, Papa...looked a bit lost, but, would the CEO of a £34 Billion income empire be so misinformed when he always seemed to be a very formidable business man?

Merely reflects the immorality of modern journalism, gossips, behind the curtain types whose money and interest feed all these intrusive media.....from radio, to TV, magazines and newspapers.

The public get the sh!t rags they deserve........the NoTW just so happens to have gotten caught and the semi-Victorian attitudes of self righteousness and indignation have raised their collectives heads again....cyclical thing!

After all, how long have hacks been rummaging through dustbins by tresspassing, private eyes gaining access to bank accounts, police taking back handers, Doctors being hosted on freebies by the drug giants, MPS going on jaunts across the world to research other countries...the list goes on.

If earlier reports are to be believed, the Select Committee carefully avoided questions that may be asked in later (criminal?) investigations; you might question that in itself, but there is some truth in the fact that prosecutions have previously been abandoned when defence lawyers successfully argued that prior media exposure denied defendants fair trials. Only time will tell whether, on this occasion, that is boloney.

Looks like young James M has some explaining to do with todays revelations, and Mr Coulson seems to be embroiled in the lies and deceipt of the evidence he gave in the Scottish MP trial ..................Jeffrey Archer couldn't write this stuff
