On that as well as a result of loosely surfaced French roads. Spoke to Aviva yesterday who confirmed that if I wanted to get it fitted by someone other than their approved replacer then they would contribute the princely sum of £110 to the cost! Autoglass it is then. They said that they don't have any in stock (not surprisingly) and would replace it when they got one. A bit of digging on my part revealed UK availability (I'm not saying where to allow Autoglass to catch up) so I've rung them back and am currently waiting for them to put 2 and 2 together to get to the same conclusion as me!
I had windscreen go on the old car as a result of a stone chip in the bonding turning into a crack which is the same as happened this time. Is this common?
I think that's a standard answer, Dave. If you can track one down at a main dealer then you should be able to persuade Autoglass that the MD should do it and that Autoglass should pay the full amount (minus your usual more modest excess). Worth a spin. Bon chance!
