That is going back some years Phil. They haven’t been Chepstow way for many years.
I've been gone a few now but the Wydean still happens I think starting and finishing at Chepstow with all the Stages in the Forest of Dean.

Good morning everyone from Potsdam. Serious tourism stuff for me today. Went to the VW museum and VWs autostadt yesterday. The museum is small and good if you're into beetles and golfs. The autostadt is pretty good. Think of it like VW Epcot. They have a design museum and selected various cars for there impact on design or performance. Not all the cars were VW. Worth a visit if you're in Wolfsburg.

Well we have fought ze German on the lift, , on the ground and in the air! We will never surrender! Over half a day getting the exhaust off!!! Ended up cutting just behind the primary flanges both sides , having marked it we can reweld it once I have liberated the rusted flanges. We are ready to drop the box at last but to be honest, we are both done in. I’ve sent him home in the GS as it needs to be more than a mile from home overnight if it isn’t garaged. Couldn’t do this job without the post lift, you would end up with a car on your lap. What a stupid exhaust system, so rusted up, what bright spark puts mild steel fixings on stainless clamps? Absolutely no chance of unscrewing the o2 sensors either. At least we should be able to make it gas tight when we are done.

You do daft things when young . I had a leaking rusted fuel tank on a e24, had to get the orginal exhaust out.
On axles stands at rear only couldnt release the exhaust clamps as rusted up. So got out the angle grinder and chopped through untill i got rhe rear section exhaust out.
Original exhaust was still on and not holed, was 20 years old, and weighed a ton when it realised on me lying underneath. I took the fuel tank out the day after then remember removing a fuel tank from a breakers yard stood on the boot of a manta which was under another e24.
Although at least this time i had properly drained the fuel tank. As a few years earlier when i did the rusting holed tanks on an esprit in my dads garage with his help i was in the pit when draining the tanks, has one each side of engine, there was alot more petrol than thought , and being in a pit i got overcome with petrol fumes. I remember to this day my brain saying dad help me but my mouth would not move. My dad did help me out, he was in hig trouble off my mum, i was probably 25, i then went for a walk with girlfriend and had to explain why my breath smelt of petrol

I drilled through the tank on my 116 Giulietta many years ago, fitting a boot tidy. Well I didn't know it was the fuel tank!
